Arrowmight Canada Education 25 $2M Canada Rogers Communications Rogers Cloud Application Hosting and Computing Services 2017 n/a
In 2017, Arrowmight Canada implemented Rogers Cloud for Application Hosting and Computing Services. The Rogers Cloud deployment was used to host the organization’s Learning Management System, supporting Facilitators and Management in the adult literacy program and providing the core application infrastructure and compute resources required for day to day operations. The implementation of Rogers Cloud encompassed a multi tier MVC web application stack, including a SQL Server 2008 database, server side C# console processes that instantiated SendMail web services for scheduled email reminders, and front end reporting using Google Chart components. Rogers Cloud provided the application hosting, compute instances, and storage layers necessary to run the C sharp and .Net Framework based components while preserving the MVC design and existing report generation workflows. Operational coverage included the learning management workflows used by facilitators and management, user acceptance testing, and production cutover activities. Arrowmight Canada worked directly with the Rogers team to plan and execute the migration and to validate application behavior after provisioning on Rogers Cloud, aligning cloud compute and hosting configurations with the application’s data access and scheduled processing needs. Project governance followed a requirements driven approach, with interviews, facilitated workshops, documented functional specifications, a user acceptance plan, and formal training and user manuals. After completing test execution and validation, Arrowmight Canada signed off on the migration to Rogers Cloud, confirming successful hosting and operational readiness of the Learning Management System on Rogers Cloud.
Harwell Mutual Insurance Insurance 50 $5M Canada Rogers Communications Rogers Cloud Application Hosting and Computing Services 2017 n/a
In 2017 Harwell Mutual Insurance deployed Rogers Cloud as a hosted platform to underpin its core infrastructure, aligning the implementation with the Application Hosting and Computing Services category to support business continuity and operational uptime. The deployment supported the insurer's small enterprise IT footprint, focused on maintaining continuous availability for office staff and a network of over 50 brokers. Rogers Cloud was used alongside a multi‑platform virtualization estate, with the Sr. System Administrator maintaining over 50 virtual machines on AWS and Rogers Cloud Hosted Services. Key functional capabilities implemented included virtual compute and storage provisioning, identity management via Azure AD and O365 integration, file services with FreeNas, group policy enforcement through GPO, and automation and quality control for business critical processes. Networking and communications were operated from the same hosting posture, with firewall, switch, VOIP and wireless AP management consolidated into the hosted and on premise operational model. The technical scope explicitly integrated cloud compute and storage with enterprise collaboration tooling, supporting IT operations, broker support workflows, and office productivity systems. Operational governance centered on business continuity and disaster recovery planning, with the Sr. System Administrator responsible for system uptime reporting and DR planning since September 2017, and a stated uptime of 99.6 percent. Governance responsibilities also included task automation ownership and co leadership on the Health and Safety Committee, reflecting combined operational and compliance stewardship for the Rogers Cloud based environment.
Olympic Plastic Bag Manufacturing 30 $3M Canada Rogers Communications Rogers Cloud Application Hosting and Computing Services 2017 n/a
In 2017, Olympic Plastic Bag implemented Rogers Cloud as its Application Hosting and Computing Services platform. Veeam backup and replication was implemented as the backup and recovery capability, and redundancy was planned and built into the infrastructure to improve availability. Network and access controls were delivered through Fortinet and Juniper firewall planning and configuration, with FortiClient and VPN remote access provisioned to support remote users. Rogers Cloud served as the Application Hosting and Computing Services environment integrated into the broader stack, alongside the VMware estate and Veeam protection, enabling centralized hosting and cloud-enabled operations while preserving on-premises virtualization and secure remote connectivity.
