AXA Investment Managers | Banking and Financial Services | 2500 | $1.7B | France | SAP | SAP Transaction Manager | Treasury Management | 2016 | n/a |
In 2016, AXA Investment Managers implemented SAP Transaction Manager to support Investment Accounting across AXA Group Operations Portugal, serving Europe, North Africa and Latin America. The deployment was aligned to the Treasury Management category and provisioned within the shared AXA European SAP platform operated by the Portugal Solution Centre. That Solution Centre established a dedicated Service Support Team to provide ongoing support and a Project Delivery Team to execute configuration and project work.
Implementation focused on SAP Financial Asset Management TRM capabilities covering securities, derivatives, money market instruments and FX OTCs, supporting trades and assets servicing workflows. Specific functional activities included technical design, configuration, development of functional specifications, and support for ABAP developments. The SAP Transaction Manager implementation progressed through unit and integration testing, user acceptance testing stages and formal quality assurance.
Operational integration required liaison with other AXA GO IT teams, customer IT teams and third parties to align interfaces and service delivery on the shared platform. The operational coverage explicitly targeted Investment Accounting and downstream operations, positioning the Treasury Management application to manage trade lifecycle, settlement and position servicing processes. Ongoing monitoring and user support were incorporated into the Service Support Team remit.
Governance emphasized adherence to shared platform processes and the codification of best practices for TRM configuration, testing and support handover. To reinforce delivery capacity the Portugal Solution Centre recruited a temporary SAP TRM consultant responsible for business requirement analysis, trades and assets servicing functional design, testing coordination and cross team collaboration with internal and external providers.

Hitachi | Professional Services | 268655 | $68.1B | Japan | SAP | SAP Transaction Manager | Treasury Management | 2019 | Deloitte |
In 2019, Hitachi implemented SAP Transaction Manager as part of a multi year global treasury transformation. The deployment was positioned in the Treasury Management category to centralise cash visualization, enhance cash forecasting, and provide debt and investment management alongside FX transaction management.
The implementation configured core Treasury Management capabilities within SAP Transaction Manager, including centralized cash position reporting, short and medium term cash forecasting workflows, instruments for debt and investment lifecycle management, and trade capture and settlement support for foreign exchange. The program explicitly incorporated exposure management and cross company code cash visibility across hundreds of company codes and banks.
Deloitte served as the implementation partner, and integrations were implemented with external market connectivity, including Bloomberg FXGO, plus bank connectivity to support bank account visibility and transaction flow. Operational scope was global treasury operations, encompassing treasury, cash management and FX desks, with processes consolidated to a central treasury function.
Governance and rollout followed a multi year program model, standardizing reporting and control frameworks to improve cash visibility and exposure management across the enterprise. The narrative from the SAP Treasury conference describes the deployment aim to centralise these Treasury Management functions and to instrument cash and exposure controls at scale.

Sanofi | Life Sciences | 82878 | $47.7B | France | SAP | SAP Transaction Manager | Treasury Management | 2017 | Intensum |
In 2017 Sanofi initiated a global SAP S/4HANA ERP and treasury transformation. The program delivered the core treasury solution with deployment completed in September 2020, and SAP Transaction Manager usage is inferred from the rollout of SAP Treasury TRM modules that included cash management, in house bank, FX exposure automation and straight through SWIFT connectivity.
The deployment architecture positioned SAP S/4HANA as the ERP backbone with the treasury layer orchestrated by SAP Treasury TRM components and inferred SAP Transaction Manager functionality, centralizing payments, cash positions and FX exposure processing. Straight through SWIFT connectivity was implemented to enable automated payment messaging and bank connectivity as part of the central treasury fabric.
Functional modules implemented comprised cash management, in house bank operations, FX exposure automation and SWIFT connectivity, reflecting a standard Treasury Management configuration for corporate cash and risk workflows. SAP Transaction Manager and SAP Treasury TRM modules were used to automate exposure capture, netting and cash visibility processes and to provide transaction orchestration across treasury workflows.
Governance and rollout were executed as a global program, centralising treasury controls and standardizing cash and FX processes across regions, with Intensum and SAP named as implementation partners. The initiative centralized treasury operations and improved liquidity and FX visibility for Sanofi, aligning treasury systems under the SAP Transaction Manager supported Treasury Management layer.
