In 2015, Port Boulogne Calais implemented Stormshield NGFW, a Next Generation Firewall, deploying a cluster of Stormshield SN2000 firewalls to secure office networks across the merged Boulogne and Calais sites. The deployment was initiated as part of the port merger to link the two sites and to pool selected equipment and Internet access under a single security architecture.
The implementation centered on a clustered SN2000 architecture to deliver higher performance and consolidated perimeter protection, leveraging Stormshield Network Security capabilities that include NATO, EU RESTRICTED and ANSSI qualification and visa level certifications. Functional coverage emphasized inter-site connectivity, perimeter inspection, and centralized policy enforcement, aligning with common Next Generation Firewall capabilities such as application-aware inspection and stateful traffic inspection.
Operational scope covered the port authority office networks for different units across both Boulogne and Calais, addressing previously heterogeneous equipment and activity profiles. In 2015, Rossmann Romania implemented Stormshield NGFW, a Next Generation Firewall, to secure communications across the retailer's infrastructure. The deployment was explicitly focused on protecting traffic between the company’s sites, its primary data centre and an Activity Recovery Plan site.
The implementation deployed two Stormshield SN910 clusters, one located at La Vancelle Gare and the other at the data centre, which together formed the core of the network security topology. These SN910 clusters were configured to secure intersite connectivity and to integrate the ARP site into the enterprise security perimeter.
Stormshield NGFW provided Next Generation Firewall capabilities aligned with network security workflows, including stateful firewalling, application level inspection, intrusion prevention and encrypted site to site communications, used to secure traffic flows between group sites, the data centre and the ARP site. The configuration centralized perimeter control and inspection at the two SN910 clusters, establishing a consistent security policy enforcement point for the organisation.
Stormshield leveraged its references and certifications to secure the engagement, and Rossmann Romania noted that in addition to relying on data centre capabilities, the implementation enabled the company to benefit from the ARP site at La Vancelle Gare and to secure all communications between the group's sites, the data centre and the ARP site.

In 2017, SNCF Reseau France implemented Stormshield NGFW as a Next Generation Firewall to protect operational network traffic and safeguard business processes. The Stormshield NGFW application firewall was deployed with an integrated Intrusion Prevention System, inspecting packet contents to ensure data packet integrity and proactively analysing network flows to detect known and unknown attacks.
The deployment combined Stormshield Network Security filtering capabilities with Seclab isolation technology, pairing application level filtering and deep packet inspection with an isolation unit that blocks attackers who penetrate the firewall, leaving them at a dead end. The implementation positioned the Seclab unit as an isolation layer that cannot be disrupted by the attacker, while Stormshield NGFW enforced content filtering, IPS signatures and anomaly detection across network sessions.
Operationally the Stormshield NGFW Next Generation Firewall configuration focuses on protecting SNCF Reseau France business functions by enforcing packet integrity and intrusion prevention across traffic flows. The architecture emphasizes layered controls that combine application firewalling, IPS and an isolation unit, and the solution is used to instrument proactive network analysis and containment of advanced intrusions.
