Bank of Montreal | Banking and Financial Services | 53597 | $25.2B | Canada | TIBCO Software | TIBCO BPM Enterprise | Business Process Management | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015, Bank of Montreal implemented TIBCO BPM Enterprise to centralize real-time customer engagement and automate approvals across retail and commercial channels. The deployment leveraged TIBCO Software to deliver Business Process Management capabilities that combine event processing, workflow automation, and decisioning.
TIBCO BPM Enterprise was configured to run automated BPM workflows and resource assignment for commercial lending and mortgage approvals, and to orchestrate real-time event processing and decision logic. Functional capabilities implemented include workflow orchestration, automated approvals, resource assignment, event-driven triggers, and data visualization to support timely decision making.
Integrations connected TIBCO BPM Enterprise to the bank's integration platform to enable straight-through processing and to ingest clickstream and historical customer behavior feeds so offers and actions could be informed by past and current interactions. Operational coverage extended across branches, call centers, and digital channels and across all lines of business so agents and tellers had visibility into prior channel activity when interacting with customers.
Governance and process changes standardized approval workflows and instrumented event triggers to shorten decision cycles and assign resources automatically. Explicit outcomes reported include 30 to 50 percent reductions in time to market for business process automations, 40 to 50 percent reductions in integration costs, three times greater offer acceptance, teller offer rates increasing from about 5 percent to over 60 percent, and a shift from one day response times to near real-time responses.

In 2016, Sydney Water implemented TIBCO BPM Enterprise. The deployment established an enterprise Business Process Management capability to operationalize and standardize process orchestration across corporate and asset management domains.
TIBCO BPM Enterprise was configured to automate Asset Renewal Capital Planning workflows used across 38 Treatment Plants, ingesting source data to replace spreadsheets and manual handoffs. Functional capabilities implemented included process orchestration, task routing and approval workflows, event-driven triggers and centralized process logic to remove repetitive manual steps.
The implementation was executed as part of Sydney Water’s broader Digital and Corporate Systems alignment to its SAP Customer and ERP transformation, coordinating updates across 12 internal systems, 3 vendor-driven systems and 14 business partner systems. Delivery involved internal staff, vendor partners and external partner IT teams, and the platform was integrated with existing asset management and GIS application landscapes to support operational planning and outage coordination.
Governance and rollout were led through the Corporate Solutions and Digital Solutions teams, embedding BPM governance and process ownership into asset planning and capital delivery functions. The TIBCO BPM Enterprise solution drove iterative feature growth and was recognized with the IQPC Opex award in 2018 for the Asset Renewal Capital Planning automation, and it continued to expand functionality thereafter.
