Tungsten Automation Legacy Kofax MarkView AP Automation ERP n/a 2010 2010
In 2010 Bank of Montreal upgraded to Kofax MarkView to modernize AP Automation workflows. The engagement was a cloud based Kofax MarkView upgrade from version 6.4 to 8.0 delivered as a Platform as a Service, and the vendor on the engagement was Tungsten Automation. The Kofax MarkView implementation centralized invoice capture and document imaging, implemented automated invoice processing and approval workflow routing, and configured exception handling and archival capabilities. Configuration work focused on workflow automation, configurable approval hierarchies, and electronic records retention consistent with AP Automation functional patterns. The deployment used the Kofax MarkView application stack to provision processing, workflow orchestration, and storage in the PaaS environment. Operational scope centered on Accounts Payable and finance operations within Bank of Montreal, aligning invoice intake, validation, and authorization processes to the new AP Automation platform. Tungsten Automation worked with internal finance and IT stakeholders on configuration, cutover planning, and staged rollout sequencing. Governance included change control for workflow and rule sets, role based access controls for approvals and audit review, and handover deliverables such as documentation and end user training for AP staff.

Alight Solutions Legacy Alight Benefits Administration Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Bank of Montreal implemented Alight Benefits Administration to provide Benefits Administration for employee benefits and retirement management. The deployment targeted active employees who are instructed to access my Benefits & Retirement via the link in Workday, establishing a clear Company Application Category Business Function relationship between Bank of Montreal, Alight Benefits Administration, Benefits Administration and employee benefits and retirement management. Alight Benefits Administration at Bank of Montreal was configured to support core self-service capabilities, including learn about, view and manage benefits and retirement information. The implementation surface includes explicit new user onboarding workflows that require Create a User ID, form-based entry fields for User ID and Password, a Forgot User ID or Password recovery flow and contextual Help resources, consistent with standard benefits enrollment and benefits education modules. Operational access is integrated at the portal level with Workday as the entry point, while the requirement to create separate credentials indicates application-specific authentication and account provisioning rather than implicit single sign-on. The web interface is instrumented for accessibility, with guidance to use the site with a screen reader, and the experience is governed through user account lifecycle processes for active employees. Governance and operational ownership reside with HR benefits and retirement administration functions, reflected in the requirement to route active employee access through Workday and to enforce account creation and password management procedures. Administrative workflows include user provisioning, credential recovery and on-screen help, aligning system controls with benefits administration operational practices.

TIBCO Software Legacy TIBCO BPM Enterprise Business Process Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Bank of Montreal implemented TIBCO BPM Enterprise to centralize real-time customer engagement and automate approvals across retail and commercial channels. The deployment leveraged TIBCO Software to deliver Business Process Management capabilities that combine event processing, workflow automation, and decisioning. TIBCO BPM Enterprise was configured to run automated BPM workflows and resource assignment for commercial lending and mortgage approvals, and to orchestrate real-time event processing and decision logic. Functional capabilities implemented include workflow orchestration, automated approvals, resource assignment, event-driven triggers, and data visualization to support timely decision making. Integrations connected TIBCO BPM Enterprise to the bank's integration platform to enable straight-through processing and to ingest clickstream and historical customer behavior feeds so offers and actions could be informed by past and current interactions. Operational coverage extended across branches, call centers, and digital channels and across all lines of business so agents and tellers had visibility into prior channel activity when interacting with customers. Governance and process changes standardized approval workflows and instrumented event triggers to shorten decision cycles and assign resources automatically. Explicit outcomes reported include 30 to 50 percent reductions in time to market for business process automations, 40 to 50 percent reductions in integration costs, three times greater offer acceptance, teller offer rates increasing from about 5 percent to over 60 percent, and a shift from one day response times to near real-time responses.
