Baumit Group Manufacturing 5700 $900M Austria Viamedici Viamedici EPIM Product Information Management 2024 n/a
In 2024, Baumit Group deployed Viamedici EPIM, a Product Information Management platform, to manage its extensive and complex product information. The project began as a pilot in Baumit's German business and was then rolled out to 27 additional European countries to support growth, scalability, and adherence to country specific laws and regulations. The organization confronted a database of over 900 recipes and fragmented information flows involving planners, tradesmen, specialist dealers, and builders, creating an explicit need to distribute accurate product information to internal and external partners. The absence of a formal mechanism to detect early market developments also drove the selection of a product information platform. Viamedici EPIM was configured to create a Golden Product Record that serves as the standardized master data entity, and the Golden Product Record is syndicated to appropriate audiences based on rule driven distribution. Automated processes were implemented to allow individual country organizations to generate country specific documents from the master data, enabling consistent document production across jurisdictions. Reporting functionality was put in place to identify changes in product information and to incorporate those changes into materials and channels, reducing redundant data creation. The implementation extended operational coverage across marketing, product management, and country level teams, and addressed information flows for planners, tradesmen, specialist dealers, and builders. Viamedici EPIM incorporates real time analytics capabilities to surface trends and issues early, creating a mechanism to monitor market developments that previously lacked formal detection. Governance was centralized around the Golden Product Record with rule based syndication governing attribute distribution and document availability, establishing a single source of truth for product data across Baumit Group. Workflows were restructured to move document creation and distribution into master data driven, automated processes, and rollout governance followed a piloted then phased regional deployment model from Germany to the wider European footprint. Sebastian Rettke Lead of Marketing said, "Thanks to Viamedici EPIM, we have taken our internal communication for product data to a new level. With the Golden Product Record, we have a standardized communication tool that distributes based on rules." The deployment also delivered reporting and analytics to detect product information changes and surface issues in real time, supporting consistent external distribution and aiming to prevent redundant data creation.
TRUMPF Manufacturing 18500 $5.8B Germany Viamedici Viamedici EPIM Product Information Management 2024 n/a
In 2024 TRUMPF implemented Viamedici EPIM as its enterprise Product Information Management platform to centralize and govern a global portfolio of approximately 140,000 products. The deployment targeted product data quality and lifecycle control across product management, marketing, and e-commerce functions, supporting TRUMPF’s machine tools, lasers, and industrial software business lines at scale. Viamedici EPIM was configured to model highly complex product structures, including multi-level parts and components that represent roughly 25 to 30 percent of turnover, and to support multi-user role based workflows for diverse departments. Functional capabilities emphasized structured data modeling, variant and component management, metadata taxonomy, validation and approval workflows, and channel-specific content syndication to enable consistent outputs for catalogs and digital storefronts. The implementation connected the PIM to TRUMPF’s existing product database and to downstream channels such as print catalog production, the corporate website, and the online store to replace laborious manual transfer processes. Governance was established across product management, service, marketing, and e-commerce teams to standardize data ownership and editorial processes. As noted by Ali Cin, Product and Service Owner PIM MAM at TRUMPF, "Right from the start, we could rely on Viamedici EPIM to map enormous complexity without issue. The PIM system has helped us to optimize multiple processes, freeing up resources and driving substantial savings."
