RTX Corporation Aerospace Aerospace and Defense 185000 $80.7B United States iBASET iBASEt Solumina MES Manufacturing Execution System 2017 n/a In 2017, RTX Corporation Aerospace deployed iBASEt Solumina MES. The iBASEt Solumina MES Manufacturing Execution System configuration focused on shop floor execution and MRO operations for engine module repairs, including creation of FAA compliant repair packages and management of engine records. Implementation scope included functional modules for engine records data management, equipment records, engine runtimes and cycles, module sales orders, and repair package generation. The team developed functional requirements, technical design documentation, and test plans, and created Solumina gap documentation to support configuration and validation of workflows tied to engine lifing pre and post test activities. Integrations were executed with SAP using SAP PM and MM modules for creation of sales orders, BOMs, production orders, repair orders, and requisitions, and with Maintenix for shop scheduling and tracking of engines in shop. The implementation also referenced iSeries iBaseT interfaces, and consumed IETMS and IETP technical data for BOM validation, while HP ALM and Jira were used for test management, defect logging, and backlog governance. Governance and rollout relied on blueprinting workshops to gather technical and functional requirements, a distributed team model for issue resolution, and a centralized backlog maintained in Jira with the MES Business Analyst serving as QA lead and Jira administrator. The program executed end to end testing cycles, produced detailed bug reproduction logs, and coordinated ITAR and EAR compliance training as part of operational readiness. Operational coverage encompassed engineering planning, QA, base engine management, and production shop technicians supporting United States Air Force projects and repair schedules at the HMC. The deployment produced daily operational reports used to analyze engine run time data, repair needs, and material usage, and it supported creation of builds of materials in SAP derived from Solumina repair data.
