AMD | Manufacturing | 28000 | $25.8B | United States | SAP | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central | Core HR | 2020 | GP Strategies | In 2020, AMD implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its global Core HR platform, replacing on-premise SAP HCM and positioning SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the primary HRIS for employee and organization master data. The project was executed with GP Strategies as the implementation partner, and included a global rollout of Employee Central and Employee Central Time to centralize core HR and time capture across AMD’s multinational sites. The implementation encompassed SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and EC Time modules, plus user adoption services and post go-live support. Configuration focused on centralizing employee and organization master records, enabling manager and employee self-service, and designing mobile-capable interfaces for anytime access. AMD retained previously implemented SuccessFactors talent modules, ensuring the new Core HR platform interoperated with existing talent management workflows. Architecture and integrations were built to create a single global platform, integrating SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with AMD’s existing SuccessFactors talent modules and a portfolio of third-party applications. GP Strategies implemented the integrations necessary to enable real-time data flows between modules, and to replace AMD’s custom time applications with EC Time for streamlined time capture across the company. Operational governance was restructured around a centralized HRIS, with simplified end-to-end processes and standardized global workflows to reduce manual steps and integration errors. The rollout emphasized consistent analytics and reporting capabilities, manager-driven data changes, and consolidated absence and time management processes under one global manager interface. Post-implementation outcomes reported by the case study include all employee data streamlined in one global system, real-time availability of integrated data across modules, simplified processes for data changes and requisition tasks, centralized global time management, on-demand employee vacation and leave balances, and improved team absence visibility. User adoption services and post go-live support were part of the engagement to stabilize operations and reinforce governance. | |
