Apps Purchases: 10+ Million Software Purchases
Founded in 2010, APPS RUN THE WORLD is a leading technology intelligence and market-research company devoted to the application space. Leveraging a rigorous data-centric research methodology, we ask the simple B2B sales intelligence question: Who’s buying enterprise applications from whom and why?
Our global team of 50 researchers has been studying the digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by 2 million + companies including technographic segmentation of 10 million ERP, EPM, CRM, HCM, Procurement, SCM, Treasury software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions and perhaps the rise and fall of certain vendors and their products on a quarterly basis.
Apps Run The World Buyer Insight and Technographics Customer Database has over 100 data fields that detail company usage of emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database, and different on-prem and cloud apps by function, customer size (employees, revenues), industry, country, implementation status, year deal won, partner involvement, Line of Business Key Stakeholders and key decision-makers contact details, including the systems being used by Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

Amcor | Manufacturing | 5000 | $1.3B | United States | Process Analytics Factory | PAFnow Process Mining | Process Mining | 2019 | n/a | In 2019 Amcor implemented PAFnow Process Mining to add event-driven process discovery and analytics capability within its North American operations. The implementation positioned PAFnow Process Mining as the analytics layer for process transparency across manufacturing and supply chain functions, aligning the application with Amcor business process improvement and process governance efforts. The deployment centered on process discovery, conformance checking, performance analysis, and visual process exploration modules, using PAFnow Process Mining to surface throughput, bottlenecks, and variant analysis. Configuration emphasized Power BI native visualization and model-driven process views, enabling analysts and operations leads to interrogate event logs and derive operational hypotheses. Integrations were implemented with Amcor's existing BI infrastructure through Microsoft's Power BI, leveraging PAFnow Process Mining as an installation free add on for Power BI users and embedding process visualizations into operational dashboards. Operational coverage focused on North American manufacturing and supply chain sites, with cross functional consumption by manufacturing engineering, operations, and continuous improvement teams. Governance and rollout used a centralized analytics ownership model, where process owners validated discovered process maps and CI teams operationalized corrective workflows through existing BI governance and change management channels. The PAFnow Process Mining deployment was structured to be noninvasive, using the customer data ecosystem without requiring new platform infrastructure, and to integrate into Amcor workflows for ongoing process monitoring.

Lenovo | Manufacturing | 72000 | $69.1B | Hong Kong | ProcessMaker | ProcessMaker BPM | Process Mining | 2015 | n/a | In 2015 Lenovo implemented ProcessMaker BPM for Process Mining to address persistent email communication bottlenecks and improve process visibility across internal workflows. The initial deployment was a controlled pilot in a single department with 16 users working on nine processes, intended to validate fit and usability for process orchestration and reporting. Phase One configured ProcessMaker BPM to support process design, case management, and reporting capabilities, and administrators built reports and dashboards to surface process metrics. Quick and easy access to the ProcessMaker database enabled Lenovo administrators to extend dashboards and reporting without heavy development effort. Phase Two expanded the deployment into a second department with 25 users and 16 processes, including a Lean Six Sigma project, and achieved a secondary objective of merging one process between two departments to eliminate redundant communication. Phase Three scaled the platform to more than 90 users across 20 processes and included a planned transition of the ProcessMaker BPM environment to the cloud, migrating historical cases and database entries into the cloud-hosted instance. Governance adjustments accompanied the rollout, with standardized process definitions and centralized administration replacing ad hoc email handoffs, and workflow orchestration used to streamline approvals and handoffs. The consolidation and standardization of processes removed cross-department friction and simplified oversight. Lenovo reported that one internal process known as T.A.T. was reduced from six days to two days, and that customer satisfaction improved significantly by the conclusion of Phase Three due to streamlined standards and increased efficiency from ProcessMaker BPM. The phased pilot then scale approach established a repeatable deployment pattern for future Process Mining and process orchestration initiatives within the organization.
