Centerra Gold Oil, Gas and Chemicals 3800 $900M Canada Hitachi Hitachi Ellipse EAM (formerly ABB Ability Ellipse EAM) Enterprise Asset Management 2015 n/a In 2015 Centerra Gold implemented Hitachi Ellipse EAM formerly ABB Ability Ellipse EAM as its Enterprise Asset Management solution to standardize asset and workforce management across its global mining operations. The deployment addressed aging assets and an aging workforce, and aimed to resolve inconsistent asset and workforce information that increased maintenance costs and inhibited timely decision making. The implementation targeted multiple mining sites under a single operational instance to establish a consistent data and process baseline. Centerra configured Hitachi Ellipse EAM to embed mining best practices and standardized business processes drawn from 35 years of product experience, using built in process diagrams, electronic forms, and training tools to accelerate user adoption. Functionally the implementation emphasized asset management and workforce management workflows, online standard operating procedures, and role based process access to elevate business maturity in maintenance and resource planning. The program followed a fast path to value, with core mining practices delivered in less than 100 days on a preconfigured platform. The solution was delivered as a cloud hosted single instance of Ellipse EAM to provide centralized data access and analytics across sites, creating a single source of truth for asset and workforce records. The preconfigured nature of the platform reduced project risk and supported ease of integration with other operational systems without prescribing specific third party products. A unified cloud instance enabled consolidated reporting and cross site visibility for operations and maintenance teams. Governance shifted toward standardized, repeatable processes to support ISO 55000 aligned asset management practices, with controls and procedures designed to keep workers safe and to manage operational risk. Hitachi Ellipse EAM served as the central system of record for asset information and workforce competence data, supporting continual improvement in resource and risk management across Centerra Gold’s global sites.
