Mundipharma Life Sciences 3600 $2.0B United Kingdom Infor Infor Supply Chain Planning Supply Chain Management 2011 n/a In 2011, Mundipharma implemented Infor Supply Chain Planning to address non-transparent, spreadsheet-based demand planning and to synchronize supply and demand across its European operations. The deployment was mandated to improve visibility across a complex network that includes independent partner companies, a European distribution center in Holland, and multiple tier 3 suppliers, and the project was positioned within the Supply Chain Management domain to align forecasting and inventory processes. The implementation centered on the Infor SCM Demand Planning capabilities within Infor Supply Chain Planning, replacing manual spreadsheets with structured demand forecasting, requirements planning and inventory optimization workflows. Functional workstreams included collaborative demand capture from partner companies, statistical forecast generation, and inventory parameter configuration, enabling more precise demand forecasts and closer alignment of stock levels with actual market signals. Integrations and operational coverage were explicit parts of the plan, with the solution configured to accept inputs from independent partners responsible for sales, marketing and logistics, and to coordinate replenishment through the European distribution center and tier 3 suppliers. The rollout was scheduled to begin in November 2011 for 21 users across Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Ireland and Denmark, focusing business function impact on demand planning, distribution and logistics operations. Governance and vendor selection were formalized prior to go-live, Mundipharma conducted a structured selection process that shortlisted seven candidates and consulted Gartner to define requirements, and the company selected Infor citing user-friendliness, security, ease of connecting tier 3 companies and scalability. Expected outcomes stated by the company included improved product availability, reduced inventories and the ability for local partner companies to contribute market knowledge into requirements planning, all within the Supply Chain Management implementation of Infor Supply Chain Planning.
