AbbVie UK | Life Sciences | 584 | $169M | United Kingdom | SAP | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | 2015 | n/a | In 2015, AbbVie UK configured SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as a Data Warehouse to centralize procurement analytics and support a procurement to payment transformation in the UK head office. The deployment focused on enabling structured reporting and data modelling for procurement, vendor management, catalogue maintenance, pricing evaluation and bulk data upload operations. The SAP BW (Business Warehouse) implementation delivered functional modules and capabilities for data modelling, ETL style bulk upload procedures, master data remediation for vendors and catalogue items, time series price evaluation models and standardized reporting for P2P and accounts payable. Configuration work included creation of repeatable bulk uploading routines and data rectification models used to surface and correct vendor and catalogue data quality issues. Operational integration tied SAP BW to on premise SAP transactional procurement and P2P systems to feed procurement transaction data and vendor master records into the Data Warehouse. The scope of coverage was the UK procurement and vendor management functions, with outputs consumed by procurement analysts, vendor management leads, and finance teams, and used to monitor outsourced BPO relationships, SLAs and KPIs. Governance and process change accompanied the technical rollout, with change management activities to restructure the UK P2P section, align UK processes with global process and procedure standards, and establish reporting and issue resolution workflows to track risks and dependencies. Explicit outcomes noted during the program include implementing and establishing a procurement to payment system and good practice, development of a robust bulk uploading procedure, improvements to catalogue and vendor management uploads, and creation of a pricing evaluation model that compared price change over time. | |
