Al Seer Group Retail 1476 $582M United Arab Emirates SAP SAP BusinessObjects Lumira Analytics and BI 2013 n/a In 2013, Al Seer Group implemented SAP BusinessObjects Lumira as part of an Analytics and BI initiative to accelerate business analytics and reporting. The delivery was led by a cross disciplinary team of business analysts, developers, business process owners and external suppliers, with a single primary point of contact ensuring alignment of development efforts with bottom line business objectives. The implementation emphasized self service analytics to give business users direct access to enterprise level data assets supporting retail decision making. SAP BusinessObjects Lumira was deployed on top of an enterprise reporting stack that included SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence and SAP HANA data modelling, with source systems running SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 7.0. Data was exposed through SQL queries and HANA models for visualization in Lumira Discovery and for dashboard composition using Dashboard Designer. SAP Predictive Analytics was leveraged for statistical modeling where required, while Microsoft Power BI and Tableau were retained as complementary visualization tools in the analytics ecosystem. Project management methodologies were applied to formalize handoffs between business process owners and technical teams, standardize data access workflows, and prioritize development against business objectives. Governance focused on content management through the BusinessObjects platform and on enabling governed user driven exploration via SAP BusinessObjects Lumira self service capabilities. The implementation delivered enterprise level self service analytics access for multiple business functions as described by the project team.
