EADS Aerospace and Defense 133782 $70.4B Netherlands Meridian Global Services Meridian Expenseflo Expense Management 2005 n/a In 2005, EADS implemented Meridian Expenseflo as an Expense Management solution to centralize back office processing for travel and expense. Meridian Expenseflo enabled a single back office processing solution that ties together data from the travel booking system, the expense management system and the lodge card supplier, providing a single point of management for the expense claim process. Using the expertise of Meridian’s implementation team, a best in class end-to-end process was implemented to ensure smooth and efficient movement of physical and electronic expense claims from submission to payment. At the core of the Meridian Expenseflo service is a 100% audit of all expense claims submitted by travellers, matching actual receipts against claimed amounts to detect non-compliance and miss-keying errors. Adjustments to claim balances are applied and communicated back to employees with explanations so that travellers understand why claims were changed and the travel policy is reinforced. Expenseflo provides complementary services to the SAP TM system and other supply chain vendors to ensure full audit and compliance checks can be performed and duplicate data within the Airbus solution can be identified. Integrations are explicitly scoped to travel booking feeds, lodge card supplier data and existing expense systems to enable automated validation and audit workflows. Operational coverage centers on back office finance and travel management functions within EADS processing environments. Governance was centralized around a single point of management for claims, standardizing claim processing workflows and audit controls across the organization. The implementation identified and rectified policy non-compliance and entry errors, and the resulting balance adjustments have delivered substantial savings.
