ICICI Prudential Life Insurance | Insurance | 19975 | $8.3B | India | Artivatic | Artivatic OCR and ICR | Intelligent Document Processing | 2021 | n/a | In 2021, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance implemented Artivatic OCR and ICR, Apps Category: , and adopted Artivatic's AUSIS AI underwriting platform to automate policy data verification and underwriting decisions across its India operations. The initial deployment embedded optical character recognition and intelligent character recognition into the new business intake to accelerate document-centric data capture and reduce manual entry in underwriting workflows. Artivatic OCR and ICR was configured as the document extraction layer inside the AUSIS underwriting pipeline, delivering OCR and ICR capture of structured and semi-structured application forms and supporting attachments. Configuration emphasized document classification, field extraction, and automated validation modules that feed normalized data into the AUSIS decisioning engine to enable rule-based and model-driven underwriting decisions. Operational coverage focused on new business underwriting and policy processing across ICICI Prudential's Indian underwriting teams, integrating extracted data into existing underwriting intake processes and exception routing. The implementation preserved underwriting governance by routing validation exceptions and ambiguous extractions to human underwriters, while centralizing document ingestion and verification within the AUSIS-enabled pipeline. The program delivered large reductions in turnaround time and higher STP rates for new business underwriting as reported in deployment notes. Governance changes concentrated on exception handling, verification checkpoints, and controlled escalation paths to maintain underwriting controls while increasing automation in policy processing. | |
