Department of Justice of Western Australia | Government | 7120 | $1.4B | Australia | Oracle | Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable | AP Automation | 2019 | n/a | In 2019 the Department of Justice of Western Australia implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable as a targeted AP Automation deployment to support its central finance operations. The Department of Justice of Western Australia Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable AP Automation initiative was positioned to centralize supplier invoice processing, invoice matching and accounts payable workflow controls for the statewide finance function. Functional configuration focused on invoice capture and matching, purchase order matching and authorization workflows, coding of trade creditors to budget lines, supplier statement reconciliation and month end bank reconciliation. The implementation used Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable for matching purchase and processing AP invoices in Oracle, and for processing staff travel allowances and creditor coding as part of routine month end processing. Integrations were implemented with existing procurement and payment tools explicitly cited in operational notes, including TotalAgility P2P for workflow orchestration, Technology One for purchase order processing, and Flexipurchase for credit card payment handling. Operational coverage included finance officers in Perth and regional offices, with the system used to create and match purchase orders, process invoices and issue cheques for regional locations. Governance and workflow changes emphasized invoice authorization in accordance with departmental authorization rules, standardized invoice coding to budget, and reconciliations for petty cash and supplier statements. Daily petty cash reconciliation, weekly petty cash top up and formalized month end procedures were retained within the accounts payable operating model and executed alongside the Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials Accounts Payable implementation. | |
