AZ Delta Healthcare 1000 $80M Belgium SAP SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial 2020 Delaware In 2020, AZ Delta implemented SAP S/4 HANA to centralize financial operations and unify back-office processes across the hospital group, deploying SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to improve control and transparency. The decision responded to scattered data and the move to a new main campus in Roeselare, with the implementation occurring while the organization managed relocation activities and restrictions related to the corona pandemic. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment focused on core financial accounting capabilities, master data consolidation, real-time reporting, and integrated transaction processing to provide a single reliable data source for finance. AZ Delta configured the system to support consolidated ledgers, accounts payable and receivable workflows, and operational reporting, aligning functional modules with hospital financial governance and internal control objectives. Delaware acted as the implementation partner for the SAP S/4 HANA program, delivering system configuration and rollout support to bring back-office processes onto one platform. Operational coverage extended across the hospital group, covering finance and wider back-office functions for multiple sites including the new Roeselare campus, and consolidating previously scattered datasets into the SAP S/4 HANA information and management system. Governance and process changes were prioritized to boost control and transparency, with leadership emphasizing a single, consistent data source for real-time access to financial information. The implementation explicitly aimed to streamline workflows and strengthen financial oversight, addressing AZ Delta’s strategic objective of maintaining financial health while supporting high-volume clinical operations.
Bewel Manufacturing 2200 $1.0B Belgium SAP SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial 2022 Delaware In 2022, Bewel migrated from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4 HANA. The Belgium based sheltered workshops operator has 2,200 employees across eight work centers, including roughly 400 employees working in house at customer sites, and the program was driven by end of life on premise servers and the need for a cloud foundation. Delaware served as the system integrator on the project. The implementation targeted SAP S/4 HANA under the ERP Financial category, executed as a brownfield migration that preserved existing data and configurations. Because the ECC environment was largely standard, Bewel and Delaware were able to retain most historic configurations, reducing rework and accelerating the migration. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment was configured to support core ERP Financial workflows and to establish a technology baseline for future HR innovation such as competency management. Deployment architecture was based on SAP RISE as a private cloud hosting model for SAP S/4 HANA, moving Bewel away from two on premise servers into a managed cloud service. The technical migration was performed as a single step cutover, completed over a single weekend with minimal business disruption. Bewel has begun integrating SAP SuccessFactors to replace Excel based HR processes and to digitize competency management within the new cloud landscape. Governance and rollout were led jointly by Delaware and Bewel IT operations, using rigorous preparation, migration rehearsals, and an orchestrated cutover plan to maintain transactional continuity across finance, procurement, and operations. The brownfield strategy was selected to balance cost and risk while enabling process standardization, and workstreams were established to align core ERP processes to SAP S/4 HANA practices. As an explicit outcome Bewel now operates SAP S/4 HANA in the SAP RISE private cloud, providing an updated user interface and access to new functionality, and the organization reports it is 100% cloud ready and aligned with SAPs cloud strategy. Ongoing projects with Delaware and SAP SuccessFactors focus on digitizing HR and competency management to reduce administrative overhead and enable further innovation.
