Gresham, Smith and Partners Professional Services 1200 $260M United States Epicor Epicor HCM Core HR 2014 n/a In 2014, Gresham, Smith and Partners implemented Epicor HCM as their Core HR solution to address distributed workforce management across 15 U.S. offices and an office in Shanghai. The firm centralized HR in its Nashville headquarters and sought a web-based, configurable Human Capital Management application to replace an inflexible client server HR product and to provide integrated security with Microsoft Active Directory. Epicor HCM was configured to deliver standard Core HR functional modules including employee and manager self-service, paperless performance reviews, candidate self-service, salary planning, and online benefit enrollment. The deployment leveraged Epicor HCM personalization and reporting tools, including Microsoft Analysis Services support for OLAP style analysis, to enable HR to tailor workflows and create drag and drop analytical cubes for benefit, EEO and applicant reporting without heavy customization. The implementation established a real-time integration with the firm accounting system Deltek Vision using Deltek Vision Web Services API to enforce single source data entry and automated transfer of employee records to the financial system. Epicor HCM was deployed as a web-based architecture to support distributed access, integrated security with Active Directory, and streamlined data flows between Core HR and accounting systems across domestic and international locations. Operational governance was restructured to emphasize manager self-service and routed approval workflows for personnel action notices and performance evaluations, while HR retained centralized oversight. Training and system tailoring work enabled internal administrators to perform most configuration changes, reducing dependence on external modification, and allowed the firm to align Epicor HCM workflows with existing HR processes. Explicit outcomes reported by the firm included elimination of paper processes, positive user feedback from multiple locations, improved data accuracy through employee profile self-updates, and stated cost savings while supporting a company-wide green initiative. Ongoing personalization and reporting work continued to refine workforce management and compliance reporting within Epicor HCM.
