Illinois Tool Works Manufacturing 44000 $15.9B United States Jaggaer Jaggaer One Spend Analysis Analytics and BI 2014 n/a In 2014, Illinois Tool Works implemented Jaggaer One Spend Analysis, an Analytics and BI application to support strategic sourcing and spend visibility across the enterprise. The initial deployment was led by the Corporate Strategic Sourcing Department and was adopted across seven ITW business segments and in multiple countries, managing more than $500 million in sourcing events for both direct and indirect categories. Jaggaer One Spend Analysis was configured to provide spend analysis and sourcing optimization capabilities, including configurable bidsheets, multi-component price modeling for complex RFPs, auction features, and supplier registration gating to capture required compliance fields. The implementation emphasized component-level cost breakdowns for multi-part products and configurable bid templates to handle both commodity direct materials and higher-margin indirect spend categories. Operational coverage focused on procurement and strategic sourcing functions, consolidating category spends across independently operating entities to leverage buying power and standardize sourcing workflows. The solution supported responsible sourcing controls by allowing ITW to upload specific compliance and conflict minerals fields for supplier responses, and it centralized event management and supplier communications for recurring buys. Governance and process changes included standardized bid templates, gating of supplier qualification fields at registration, and centralized event orchestration through Jaggaer One Spend Analysis to reduce cycle times. Outcomes reported by ITW include average savings near 5 percent on direct material events, savings up to 45 percent on certain indirect purchases, a $220,000 savings on a $5 million lubricant buy, and a reduction of over $63,000 on a near $140,000 heating element purchase, alongside faster cycle times and improved compliance with responsible sourcing policies.
