Next Level Apparel | Retail | 200 | $55M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management | Warehouse Management | 2022 | n/a | In 2022, Next Level Apparel implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management. The deployment targeted core distribution center operations and is positioned as a Warehouse Management solution supporting warehouse staff and distribution workflows across multiple sites, with an on-site Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Lead serving as a Distribution Center Super User and internal project manager. Configuration centered on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Warehouse Management Advanced Warehouse capabilities, including mobile RF scanning workflows, inbound and outbound process orchestration, and user account and role management. Job responsibilities indicate advanced configuration of warehouse processes, label and form formatting tasks, regression testing of new releases, and creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures to codify operational workflows and training. The implementation integrated with device and reporting layers called out in the role, notably Zebra RF scanners and printers and LaserNet programmers for label and report formatting. Reporting and analytics coordination used Power BI and interfacing with the Data Warehouse team, while collaboration with programmers addressed design specifications and functional fixes within the broader D365 F&O system. Support and troubleshooting processes were established to manage system issues encountered during operations across multiple sites. Governance emphasized a single internal accountability point in the Functional Lead who managed advanced training, user support, daily huddles to monitor progress, and stakeholder alignment. Carolina Biological Supply | Manufacturing | 450 | $55M | United States | ICS, Inc | ICS RF SMART | Inventory Management | 2018 | n/a | In 2018, Carolina Biological Supply implemented ICS RF SMART for Inventory Management to modernize warehouse and fulfillment operations across its multifacility footprint. The deployment focused on operational warehouse functions including transfer processing, cycle counting, and label printing, and was positioned to support central fulfillment activities and multiple branch receiving locations. The implementation centered on three functional modules, Create Transfer Order, RF-SMART Cycle Count, and RF-SMART Print Suite Bridge. Create Transfer Order automated the creation of transfer orders so inbound shipments arrive ready to be put away at the receiving branch, RF-SMART Cycle Count enabled real-time, scanner-driven cycle counts that eliminated the need for annual wall-to-wall physicals, and Print Suite Bridge centralized label printing formats and routing to support thousands of labels per day across 20 plus printers. ICS RF SMART was integrated with JDE, including sites using JDE Advanced Warehousing to feed central fulfillment, enabling automated transfer order creation where JDE Advanced Warehousing did not natively support those transactions. Print Suite Bridge pulled label data directly from JDE and routed print jobs across the network, allowing routing of jobs to alternate printers when devices are down and reducing manual data entry for label creation. Governance and process changes emphasized automation of manual inventory transactions and standardization of label formats across facilities, reducing manual entry into JDE and eliminating redundant procedures. The implementation delivered stated operational benefits including time savings from automated transfer order workflows, completed cycle counts in hours instead of days, standardized label output and fewer labeling errors, and a support posture described as self-sufficient with responsive vendor assistance. | |
