Dutch Valley Food Distributors Distribution 300 $50M United States Zebra Technologies Zebra MotionWorks Enterprise Real-Time Transportation Visibility 2019 n/a In 2019, Dutch Valley Food Distributors implemented Zebra MotionWorks Enterprise to address persistent warehouse device reliability and picking challenges. The deployment targeted warehouse picking operations at the bulk foods distributor and used Zebra Android mobile computers to deliver centralized visibility and consistent connectivity. This implementation is aligned with the Real-Time Transportation Visibility category and focused on improving mobile endpoint reliability, connectivity performance, and frontline user experience. Zebra MotionWorks Enterprise was configured to provide centralized monitoring of mobile device connectivity and real-time visibility for warehouse workflows, with customized interfaces deployed to operator Android mobile computers to simplify pick interactions. Functional capabilities implemented included device connectivity monitoring, real-time endpoint visibility, and operator-facing UI customization to reduce mispicks and streamline task completion. Configuration emphasized reliability and usability rather than introducing new upstream integrations. The operational scope covered warehouse operations and frontline picking teams, with IT responsible for device provisioning, interface configuration, and ongoing platform management. Governance centered on standardized device interfaces and operational rules for pick confirmation, which reduced cognitive load for pickers and stabilized daily operations. The approach enabled IT staff to shift focus from device support to higher-value projects. Outcome signals recorded by the customer include delivering five-nines reliability for mobile device connectivity, drastically reducing mispicks, increasing order accuracy, and reducing returns, with the customized interfaces rendering the new mobile devices effectively a non-issue for warehouse staff. Zebra MotionWorks Enterprise provided the real-time visibility and device reliability the business required to stabilize picking operations and improve order fulfillment accuracy.
