Barker and Stonehouse Retail 400 $95M United Kingdom Microsoft Microsoft Dynamics NAV Warehouse Management Warehouse Management 2017 n/a In 2017, Barker and Stonehouse implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV Warehouse Management as their Warehouse Management solution across UK warehousing and store fulfillment operations. The implementation targeted order entry, goods receipt, stocktaking, internal transfers between warehouses and stores, and coordination of long distance deliveries managed by the warehousing administration team. Microsoft Dynamics NAV Warehouse Management was configured to support inventory control, receiving and putaway, transfer order processing, barcode scanning workflows, and pick and pack order orchestration, reflecting Warehouse Management functional modules. Configuration emphasized scanner maintenance and database recordkeeping to support daily stocktaking and reconciliation workflows performed by office and warehouse administrators. Operational workflows incorporated routing and dispatch tooling, with staff familiarity reported for Paragon Routing systems and Flexipod, and carrier handling workflows using DPD and Parcelforce for customer collections and deliveries. Order input, container booking, and manual postcode based delivery scheduling were retained as part of the execution layer, with Microsoft Dynamics NAV Warehouse Management acting as the central inventory and order processing system. Governance and rollout relied on internal warehousing administrators to train peers, drawing on existing exposure to K3 NAV Dynamics and hands on troubleshooting for scanners and database tasks. The deployment centered on process standardization for order entry, stock reconciliation, and intersite transfers across warehouses and retail locations within the United Kingdom.
Barker and Stonehouse Retail 400 $95M United Kingdom Paragon Software Systems Plc Paragon fleXipod ePOD system Real-Time Transportation Visibility 2017 n/a In 2017 Barker and Stonehouse implemented the Paragon fleXipod ePOD system to provide Real-Time Transportation Visibility for its delivery operation. The deployment was combined with Paragon routing and scheduling software to centralize transport planning and deliver end to end visibility across warehouse, store dispatch and field delivery workflows. The implementation centered on routing and scheduling capabilities and a mobile ePOD application, enabling pre-shift vehicle checks, equipment checklists and electronic proof of delivery capture. Paragon fleXipod ePOD system was configured to prompt drivers before leaving the warehouse, store compliance check data centrally, capture photos at customers homes and transmit real time issue notifications to back office teams. Operational integrations documented in the rollout included links from fleXipod to customer communications channels, sending customers an email or text with a fleXipod track my driver link on the day of delivery, and real time notifications to the company customer care centre. The program covered Barker and Stonehouse’s in‑house fleet of 27 vans operating on a nationwide basis, supporting approximately 1,500 orders a week and enabling service to nearly 90% of postcodes on a six day weekly delivery pattern. Governance and rollout activity was led with Paragon’s implementation and support team providing deployment support, process alignment and training, with an expected full rollout by the end of April. Paragon routing was also adopted as a strategic planning tool to run what if scenarios and inform operational decision making, while centralized data storage supported compliance and provided a single view of delivery performance. The combined Paragon routing and fleXipod capabilities were used to increase delivery frequency, offer wider customer time window choice and streamline day of delivery processes.
