Exelon Utilities 20000 $23.0B United States Hitachi Vantara Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM Enterprise Asset Management 2015 n/a In 2015, Exelon consolidated all Enterprise Asset Management solution applications of a subsidiary into Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM, executing a program to unify asset records and historical data into a single Ventyx Asset Suite 8 instance. The initiative was scoped as a company-wide enterprise asset data consolidation and migration effort, executed from Exelon Corporation offices in Chicago, Illinois during February through May 2015. The implementation centered on designing and building ETL processes to convert existing applications data into the target application table structures of Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM. Work included schema mapping, data transformation and staging, and loading of historical asset and transactional records, reflecting standard Enterprise Asset Management data model requirements for asset registers, maintenance history, and configuration tables. Operational automation and runbook governance were established through JSS schedule flows and Unix scripts to automate data conversion and data loads, enabling repeatable batch processing for multi-source ingestion. The project required coordination with subsidiary application owners to reconcile table mappings and sequencing, and created a centralized load and scheduling pattern to support ongoing data population into the Ventyx Asset Suite environment.
PPL Electric Utilities Utilities 6527 $7.9B United States Hitachi Vantara Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM Enterprise Asset Management 2015 n/a In 2015, PPL Electric Utilities deployed Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to consolidate asset and work management for 13kV distribution operations. PPL Electric Utilities implemented Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM to support design, maintenance, and resource management functions across regional operations, aligning the application to business workflows for distribution asset lifecycle management. The implementation emphasized standard Enterprise Asset Management capabilities, including work order lifecycle management, asset hierarchy and configuration, planned preventive maintenance scheduling, and resource assignment. The Ventyx Asset Suite was configured to capture design and replacement cycles for overhead and underground facilities, log corrective maintenance activities, and record capital improvement and reliability project assets tied to regional portfolios. Operational coverage for the deployment included regional design groups, asset operations, system development and technical support, and resource management teams. The program organized cross functional IT and business stakeholders to operate the platform, with business leads and technical staff collaborating to identify defects, prioritize fixes, and direct issues to the appropriate business owner to avoid schedule impact. Governance and process changes were driven from the asset and work management function, where the Manager Asset and Work Management led development of the asset strategy on Ventyx Asset Suite and provided daily direction to ensure timely issue resolution. The regional design management context included oversight of 13kV service design and a budget in excess of 20M dollars annually, which informed configuration priorities for project tracking, maintenance planning, and operational control within the Hitachi Ventyx Asset Suite EAM environment.
