In 2021, Lohia Group implemented SAP Gate Pass Entry, a Physical Access Control System, as part of a SAP-based vendor portal built on SAP BTP with Fiori/UI5. The project was developed with KPMG and went live in September 2021 across Lohia Group's supplier gate operations in India.
The SAP Gate Pass Entry implementation automated schedule generation and gate entry processes for suppliers, embedding vendor registration, appointment scheduling, and gate pass issuance workflows in Fiori/UI5 user interfaces. Automation reduced manual gate processing steps and centralized supplier visibility across the supply chain.
Architecturally the solution was provisioned on SAP Business Technology Platform, leveraging Fiori/UI5 for mobile and kiosk interfaces to capture arrival, verification, and pass issuance events. Operational scope targeted manufacturing sites and inbound supplier logistics across India, aligning gate operations with supplier scheduling to improve visibility.
KPMG supported rollout and configuration governance, standardizing gate pass workflows and supplier onboarding procedures to enforce process controls and auditability. The implementation produced measurable outcomes reported by Lohia Group, including inventory reduction and significant gate-time savings.
