In 2022, Siemens Schweiz implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR system. The deployment was complemented by Aconso delivered components, including the aconso Digital Personnel File, Digital Document Creation, and a customized software-based HR Process Management solution to extend Core HR functionality across the regional organization.
The implementation concentrated on automation of the ten most important HR processes and creation of consistent, end to end workflows with no media discontinuity. Functional capabilities implemented by the aconso solution include personnel file storage and document creation, workflow visibility for current process stage and task ownership, multilingual user interfaces supporting a minimum of three languages, and self-service views for training and development, changes in working hours, recruitment, special bonuses, probation period meetings, powers of attorney, and contract changes with contract amendment services currently being rolled out.
The HR Process Management was configured to operate alongside SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central while functioning independently from SAP and the relevant data model, enabling the HR portal to orchestrate document-centric processes without mandatory data model coupling. The project covered a regional company footprint in Switzerland across about eight divisions including Healthcare, and the case study describes delivery for more than 5,000 staff and executives using the portal and process automation.
Governance design emphasized local configurability, the ability for internal HR experts to make minor modifications after initial installation, and a portal centric workflow to reduce manual printing and scanning. Outcomes reported in the case study include substantially shorter processing times, simpler handling of HR processes for users, and a marked reduction in paper consumption as operations pass through the system automatically.
