In 2019 Wavin deployed Zebra Mobility DNA as part of an Endpoint Management initiative to standardize mobile computing across its warehouse operations. Wavin is a Dutch manufacturer with approximately 12,000 employees and global operational reach, and the Zebra Mobility DNA deployment targeted handheld, wearable, and vehicle mount form factors to support picking, receiving, and in-warehouse scanning workflows.
The implementation included Zebra MC9300 Ultra-Rugged Mobile Touch Computers, Zebra VC8300 Vehicle Mount Computers, Zebra TC52 Touch Computers, Zebra RS507 Cordless Ring Imagers, Zebra DS3678 Cordless Scanners, Zebra QLn420 Mobile Printers, a range of Zebra industrial printers and accessories such as single-slot and multi-slot chargers, cradles and arm mounts. Functional capabilities configured under Zebra Mobility DNA included device provisioning and staging with Zebra StageNow and Android security and lifecycle patching using Zebra LifeGuard for Android. The hardware footprint emphasized ruggedized 2D cordless Android scanning technology, full-screen graphical touch interfaces and integrated keyboard options to meet warehouse ergonomic and connectivity requirements.
Operational architecture centralized endpoint control for mobile and vehicle mounted devices, with device provisioning and imaging performed via Zebra StageNow and ongoing mobile endpoint management integrated with SOTI MobiControl. Printers and mobile label hardware were coordinated with handheld and vehicle mount computers to support label printing at the point of activity and to maintain operational continuity in warehouse workflows. The solution was deployed to address warehouse operational needs rather than back office ERP integration, focusing on device lifecycle and edge endpoint orchestration within warehouse sites.
Systems integrator Actemium led implementation and rollout governance, establishing standardized device images, staged provisioning processes and device lifecycle procedures to ensure consistent configuration across sites. The project emphasized centralized Endpoint Management controls, staged device onboarding and managed Android security updates through Zebra LifeGuard for Android. The combined Zebra Technologies hardware and Zebra Mobility DNA software stack contributed to driving efficiency in Wavin warehouse operations as part of a consolidated warehouse technology program.
