EVN GENCO 3 engaged IBM Premier Business Partner Avenue Business Solutions Joint Stock Company to build the asset management platform using Maximo Asset Management and Websphere Server, deploying an initial installation in Vung Tau City to support the company that operates eight power projects. The implementation included full setup, configuration and installation of the IBM Maximo system with 25 user licenses, full data population and sanitation of equipment, spare parts, inventory items and vendor records, and construction of an equipment location hierarchy with spare part linkage. Functional modules and capabilities implemented include asset tracking, work management, inventory control, purchasing including non-maintenance purchasing, procurement centralization and workflow orchestration, plus more than 20 customized reports and over 20 tailored screens to support plant operations. Integration work explicitly connected Maximo to the financial accounting software SAP B1 for cost planning and administration cost flows, while Websphere Server provided the application hosting layer. The operational scope covers operating and maintenance departments, warehouse and materials management, procurement and project management activities at the Vung Tau site, with a stated plan to grow Maximo for additional plants in the future. Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, including implementation of workflows to centralize procurement and to schedule daily work for the operations and maintenance organization, and a structured training program comprising project team training, IT and administration training, user community training and customized sessions. Reported benefits include a central system for asset management, optimized maintenance processes, improved supply chain management and management reports to support continuous improvement, with Maximo used across asset tracking, work management, inventory and purchasing. | |
