In 2022, Custom Patch Hats implemented Odoo Quality as part of a broader Odoo deployment. Odoo Quality is the Quality Management application within a suite that also included Sales, Purchase, CRM, Manufacturing, Inventory, Contacts, and Barcode modules, and the implementation was delivered by Bista Solutions.
The implementation packaged Odoo Quality with custom modules for Artwork and Decoration that were embedded into the Sales workflow, and the Artwork approval flow was exposed through a customer portal. Automation was configured across order lifecycles to drive status changes, automated invoicing, and customer communications, and tablet and barcode usage were provisioned to support shop floor and warehouse transactions. The project preserved a single Sales Order identifier to link design, approval, manufacturing, and shipping stages across the system.
Integrations explicitly implemented included barcode scanning for inventory and manufacturing transactions and a customer facing portal for artwork approval and order updates. A payment gateway integration was planned for phase two, and the deployment supported operational coverage for sales, manufacturing, warehouse, and customer service teams at the companys North Carolina location with 44 Odoo users active in the system. During the transition the company operated both systems concurrently while processes were stabilized.
Governance and rollout followed structured business analysis sessions in April 2022, two rounds of user acceptance testing in September 2022 and February 2023, and on site project management visits in April 2023 to validate shop floor processes. Detailed user manuals were delivered, user roles and responsibilities were refined particularly in manufacturing where prior manual Trello driven practices required redefinition, and phase two development work was scoped to incorporate additional payment and reporting requirements. Bista Solutions ran iterative configuration cycles to accommodate evolving requirements before the system went live in March 2023.
Reported outcomes from the engagement include increased operational efficiency and reduced error rates, no reduction in headcount, and improved employee and customer satisfaction. The deployment of Odoo Quality and the surrounding Quality Management workflows was positioned as an integrated capability supporting inspection, artwork approval, and traceability across Custom Patch Hats business functions.
