Child Rescue Coalition | Non Profit | 30 | $3M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | 2019 | In 2019 Child Rescue Coalition implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its cloud ERP Financial system, replacing Intuit QuickBooks Online to gain stronger controls and reporting for nonprofit accounting. The decision followed a recommendation from Microsoft partner TechSoup and a selection of Boyer & Associates as the implementation partner, with Director of Accounting Jeanne Aparicio driving the project and performing much of the configuration work herself. The implementation delivered core modules including sales, finance, cash management, purchasing and fixed assets, while inventory and payroll were explicitly not implemented. Fixed Assets required the most complex configuration and caused a short delay, but the organization completed a full transactional history backup extending to the nonprofit’s inception in 2013 and achieved a production go live in August after a three month implementation period. Architecturally the deployment is Microsoft cloud based using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with data migrated from Intuit QuickBooks Online and configuration packages provided by Boyer & Associates. The rollout leaned on Boyer’s quick-start guides and weekly advisory calls, enabling a largely self-led implementation by the accounting director, and established role based access controls, month end close workflows, Account Schedules and Dimensions for multidimensional reporting. Governance and operational practices were codified under the Director of Accounting, who used Business Central’s Dimensions and Account Schedules to create prior period department comparisons and to track restricted funds in line with nonprofit grant restrictions. The project stayed under budget, with an original budget of 10,000 and actual implementation cost of 7,500, and Child Rescue Coalition now relies on Boyer for ongoing support while using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial capabilities to produce board-ready financial reports without external Excel reconciliation.

Famous Products | Consumer Packaged Goods | 50 | $5M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | 2019 | In 2019 Famous Products selected Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its ERP Financial application to replace Intuit QuickBooks Online, addressing a long-standing need for integrated inventory control across multiple warehouses. The decision followed a recommendation from SOL-I.S. Technology Solutions and an engagement with Boyer & Associates to lead the implementation work for the company, a 50-person consumer packaged goods manufacturer. The deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central focused on core financial and inventory capabilities, with General Ledger and Inventory configured as the primary modules. Boyer & Associates performed targeted customizations to align Business Central to Famous Products operational processes, while excluding advanced manufacturing modules because manufacturing is contracted out. The implementation leveraged Business Central cloud capabilities for real-time inventory visibility and dimensional reporting. The program included parallel EDI replacement work, switching the EDI provider from eBridge Connections to SPS Commerce, coordinated alongside the Business Central rollout. The project formally kicked off in November 2020 and the combined ERP and EDI environments were live by April 1, with Boyer handling EDI testing and cutover activities and Jet Reports integrated for ad hoc and operational analytics. Governance and change management centered on consultant-led training and iterative process refinement with ongoing support from Boyer & Associates. The implementation experienced staff turnover of three people during the project, which extended the learning curve and required retraining, but Famous Products maintained shipping continuity throughout the cutover. Operational outcomes reported by the company include immediate access to real-time inventory snapshots and improved customer profitability analysis through Business Central dimensions and Jet Reports, enabling more granular cost and shipping insights.

Harkraft | Manufacturing | 30 | $3M | United States | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central | ERP Financial | 2019 | In 2019 Harkraft implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its ERP Financial system, migrating from Microsoft Dynamics GP to a Microsoft cloud-hosted deployment. The Minneapolis-based manufacturer moved to the cloud to address performance, concurrency and maintenance problems experienced with the previous GP installation. Boyer & Associates led configuration and implementation work that emphasized simplifying processes, cleaning master data and removing unnecessary customizations. The engagement reduced the companys part numbers by two-thirds and eliminated the need for the Horizons manufacturing and inventory add-on, while aligning core functionality for finance, accounting, inventory and manufacturing transactions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Business Central deployment leveraged cloud hosting to enable remote access and concurrent multi-user operation, allowing multiple staff members and the longtime bookkeeper to work simultaneously and to post transactions while other tasks occur. The project replaced the prior Dynamics GP setup and consolidated functionality that had been split across add-ons, without introducing other named integrations in the available case materials. Governance centered on partner-led process simplification, phased data cleanup and removal of redundant custom modules, which kept the project on budget and produced a stable production environment. Reported outcomes from Harkraft include smoother operations, increased productivity, improved interface responsiveness for work-from-home scenarios, and broad team acceptance of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial solution.
