In 2021, BIA Group Belgium implemented SAP Cloud for Customer as a Sales Automation application to standardize and accelerate the end-to-end sales process for heavy mining and public works equipment. A notable configuration focus was master data transformation, where BIA’s nonstandard customer address descriptions were concatenated into structured address fields to satisfy CRM customer master requirements and maintain data quality for sales workflows.
Architecturally the SAP Cloud for Customer instance was integrated with BIA’s back-end SAP ECC system to deliver synchronized customer and transactional visibility between front-office and ERP, the technical setup was described as straightforward. The integration supports sales insight acceleration by surfacing ERP-backed information to sales users inside SAP Cloud for Customer, enabling more informed opportunity follow up.
Governance and adoption were driven by BIA key users and management who championed the system, which helped bring sales engineers into active use of SAP Cloud for Customer.
