AB InBev | Consumer Packaged Goods | 143885 | $59.8B | Belgium | SettleMint | SettleMint Blockchain Platform | Blockchain Platform | 2020 |
In 2020, AB InBev deployed the SettleMint Blockchain Platform, a Blockchain Platform, to run a pilot aimed at end-to-end barley traceability across parts of Europe. The pilot targeted indirect growers, linking 80 barley farmers in the North East of France with a malthouse in Antwerp and the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven, while SettleMint delivered the platform and Fujitsu provided implementation support after introductions via the Horizon 2020 initiative.
The SettleMint Blockchain Platform was provisioned as a Blockchain Platform as a Service and implemented core track and trace and provenance modules to record harvest, malting and batch movements across the supply chain. Functional capabilities implemented included a decentralized ledger for secure provenance records, data aggregation and benchmarking for farmer performance, and a consumer-facing QR code lookup that surfaces farm-level provenance on pack.
Operational integration connected participants across farmers, malting cooperatives, the malthouse in Antwerp, the Stella Artois brewery in Leuven, warehouses and carriers to a unified ledger, with data capture points at farm, malthouse and brewing stages. Fujitsu supported the deployment leveraging its track and trace experience, and SettleMint operated the platform from its Leuven base, enabling the pilot to scale within European supply network boundaries.
Governance and workflow changes centered on onboarding indirect farmers, standardizing data inputs for aggregation and benchmarking, and enabling consumer transparency workflows that resolve a QR code scan to farm provenance information. Explicit outcomes stated by the project include end-to-end consumer visibility on barley provenance, the ability to benchmark and share agronomic insights to improve yields and resource efficiency, and strengthening supply chain resilience as part of AB InBev's Smart Agriculture and 2025 sustainability commitments.

Abu Dhabi Department of Education And Knowledge | Government | 3000 | $500M | United Arab Emirates | SAP | SAP Ariba Sourcing | Sourcing | 2018 |
In 2018, Abu Dhabi Department of Education And Knowledge implemented SAP Ariba Sourcing, deploying the Sourcing application to manage competitive tendering and supplier engagement across ADEK procurement. Fujitsu served as the system integrator for the rollout, aligning the solution to government tender workflows and supplier outreach processes.
The SAP Ariba Sourcing implementation included core sourcing modules and capabilities such as RFP and RFx event creation, electronic bid submission, bid evaluation workflows, configurable approval routing, and supplier response management. SAP Ariba Sourcing was configured to support formal tender documents and to publish long term price agreement opportunities consistent with ADEK procurement policy.
Operationally the deployment used the Ariba supplier registration endpoint referenced in ADEK tender notices, suppliers registered or updated profiles via https://dofad.supplier.mn1.ariba.com/ad/selfRegistration. Supplier management and tender communication channels were instrumented to use commercial.register@adek.abudhabi.ae and tenders@adek.abudhabi.ae, with a supplier management team phone contact for registration support, preserving centralized supplier onboarding and vendor communications.
Governance and process restructuring centered on centralizing supplier onboarding, standardizing tender publication and enforcing registration deadlines communicated in tender documents. SAP Ariba Sourcing supported ADEK procurement and supplier management functions through role based approval workflows and catalog of sourcing event templates, while Fujitsu held implementation and configuration responsibility during the rollout.

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority | Consumer Packaged Goods | 450 | $60M | United Arab Emirates | Oracle | Oracle Siebel | CRM | 2015 |
In 2015, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority engaged Fujitsu to implement Oracle Siebel as its CRM to manage customer-facing operations associated with food safety inspections across the Abu Dhabi emirate. The engagement was scoped to support the Authority’s AIRS project, tying CRM capabilities directly to regulatory inspection workflows for manufacturing and distribution oversight.
Fujitsu configured Oracle Siebel to provide centralized contact management, case and inspection lifecycle management, inspection scheduling and service request tracking, along with workflow automation and compliance-oriented activity logging. Configuration emphasis was on inspection case handling, evidence capture and structured service requests, aligning Siebel’s service and workflow modules with regulatory inspection processes.
Operational coverage targeted inspection teams, field operations, regulatory affairs and customer service functions responsible for livestock oversight and food quality assurance. The implementation was positioned to support sustainable livestock development programs and to improve controls over meat and milk quality within the emirate through unified customer and case records.
Deployment and governance were managed under the AIRS project framework with Fujitsu leading system configuration and rollout activities, and with process alignment to existing inspection procedures and regulatory workflows. The project forms part of the Authority’s efforts to achieve sustainable livestock development and to ensure better quality meat and milk in the emirate.
