In 2019, Hyundai Nishat Motor implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform. The deployment covered finance and controlling, human capital management, and supply chain management across its manufacturing plant in Faisalabad and a nationwide network of dealership franchises, positioning Hyundai Nishat Motor SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial to manage order to delivery and inventory planning workflows that underpin manufacturing and sales operations.
The implementation configured SAP S/4 HANA modules for forecasting and planning, production orchestration, just in time inventory management, finance and controlling, and human capital management. Processes were redesigned to combine dealer orders with internal forecasts, enabling rolling 15 day order forecasts and orchestration of the supply chain, and the company signaled plans to instrument manufacturing for future AI, machine learning and IoT capabilities.
Infrastructure and integrations were delivered by IBM and a local SAP business partner, with SAP S/4 HANA running on three IBM Power System H922 servers with IBM POWER9 processors, virtualized with IBM PowerVM and running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications. Storage was provided by two IBM Storwize V7000 arrays using IBM Spectrum Virtualize, leveraging compression and thin provisioning to reduce physical storage by around 40 percent, and the SAP S/4 HANA platform was integrated with dealership management systems to share timely customer order and forecast data.
Governance and operational rollout emphasized supply chain coordination and reduced working capital through just in time planning, with 100 employees actively using SAP S/4 HANA at launch and the platform sized to support an eight fold increase in users without additional infrastructure. Explicit business outcomes reported include up to 66 percent faster new vehicle deliveries, up to eight times capacity for future growth, and an estimated 50 percent lower total cost of ownership and maintenance for infrastructure, while the company also acknowledged exposure to currency fluctuations as a commercial risk.
