In 2018, NSN medical AG implemented United Security Providers Network Security across its hospital group. The deployment used United Security Providers Network Security, a Network Detection and Response (NDR) solution, to deliver network segmentation and device authentication controls across 14 locations including Paracelsus Hospital and Limmat Clinic in Switzerland.
The implementation centered on United Security Providers Network Authentication System, the NAC capability within the NDR deployment, to enforce device-level access policies and segment clinical and administrative traffic. Configuration included automated VLAN provisioning workflows and role-based device access controls for medical devices, aligning network policy with device identity and risk posture.
The project was delivered together with partner NIOS AG, with the SI/VAR NIOS coordinating technical rollout and site configurations across the 14 hospitals. Operational coverage focused on hospital IT operations and medical device management teams, extending enforcement points to access layer switches and authentication services to ensure consistent policy application.
Governance and operational results stated by the customer included automated VLAN provisioning, stronger device access controls for medical devices, and reduced IT operational effort while protecting patient data. United Security Providers Network Security, deployed as an NDR-class solution, provided the institutional controls and NAC-based workflows that underpinned compliance and operational consistency.
