In 2023 the Legal Practice Council South Africa implemented Fobi AI Passcreator as a Customer Engagement solution to issue and manage digital credentials for legal practitioners within its identity and regulatory administration functions in South Africa. The deployment focused on practitioner identity verification, renewal processing, payment acceptance and credential lifecycle management as part of the Council's regulatory operations.
Fobi AI Passcreator was configured to deliver digital credential issuance, real-time identity verification, online payments, automated renewals, and credential revocation and updates. The Fobi AI Passcreator implementation emphasized credential lifecycle automation and fraud prevention controls, aligning operational workflows for registration, renewal and real-time status changes.
The project was delivered in partnership with South African partner Techfinity and system integrator Nohup, using API-centric connectivity to tie credential services into the Council's practitioner administration and payment processes. The architecture centralized credential issuance and revocation to enable real-time updates across practitioner records, supporting regulatory access and practitioner services workflows.
Governance changes included automating renewal workflows and enabling real-time voiding of practitioner IDs, reducing manual processing steps in practitioner administration. The implementation enabled reduced turnaround times from weeks to minutes and strengthened security and fraud prevention through instantaneous credential updates and revocation capabilities.
