Outset Medical, Inc. | Life Sciences | 444 | $102M | United States | QAD | QAD Adaptive ERP (ex MFG/PRO) | Manufacturing ERP | 2017 |
In 2017, Outset Medical, Inc. deployed QAD Adaptive ERP (ex MFG/PRO) as its Manufacturing ERP, replacing Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise to support rapid growth in sales and fulfillment complexity. The ERP deployment was executed in tandem with a Salesforce Sales Cloud implementation to create an integrated sales to order management workflow across the company.
QAD Adaptive ERP was configured to deliver core manufacturing ERP capabilities including order management, finance ledgers, supply chain fulfillment, and contracts management aligned to the Tablo product lifecycle. Salesforce Sales Cloud was configured with MSSA and location account constructs and opportunity records were tied to shipment records to track where each Tablo console would be shipped within hospital systems.
The integration architecture focused on real-time data flow between Salesforce Sales Cloud and QAD Adaptive ERP so finance, order management and supply chain teams could operate from a single source of customer and order truth. The program used a staged go-live plan to minimize disruption and accommodate all existing users across sales, contracts, finance and supply chain organizations.
Governance and process changes introduced structured opportunity workflows and an approval process for credit and payment terms, enabling concurrent processing by multiple departments rather than serialized email escalations. West Coast Consulting led the implementation with Strategic Information Group listed as SI/VAR, and the engagement delivered rapid adoption, improved visibility through reports and dashboards, and an 80% reduction in deal closing times as reported by the customer.
