3M Japan | Manufacturing | 1500 | $250M | Japan | SAP | SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) | Warehouse Management | 2017 | In 2017, 3M Japan implemented SAP EWM Extended Warehouse Management as part of the POLARIS end-to-end SAP footprint to establish a standardized Warehouse Management capability across its network. The initiative was executed with SI Westernacher to deliver a wall-to-wall SAP IT landscape and to enable global go-live across multiple countries and sites. The deployment implemented core SAP EWM functionality across inbound, storage and outbound workflows, including quality inspections and putaway strategies for inbound processing, RF device integration for mobile warehouse operations, and cycle count and replenishment processes for storage optimization. Cross process modules implemented included cross docking, labour management, batch traceability, label integration with software, serial number management, and advanced production staging, while outbound operations incorporated wave management, picking and pack optimization. Integrations explicitly executed during the rollout included RF device integration for scanning and transactional capture, label integration with warehouse software for traceability, and direct integration to transport processes to synchronize outbound flows and staging. Operational scope covered standardized template rollout to plants and distribution centers worldwide, aligning warehouse execution processes across manufacturing and distribution sites. Governance and rollout followed a standardized EWM template approach to enforce consistent operational workflows and process ownership across business units, with Westernacher supporting rollout governance and template adoption. The program objective focused on full implementation of a wall-to-wall SAP landscape with EWM and the rollout of a standardized EWM template globally to plants and DCs. The engagement helped 3M attain cross business warehouse excellence by unifying Warehouse Management execution under SAP EWM.

CELSA Group | Manufacturing | 10162 | $4.0B | Spain | SAP | SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration | Freight Forwarding | 2024 | In 2024 CELSA Group implemented SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration alongside SAP S/4HANA Cloud private edition and SAP Transportation Management to enable real-time collaboration with carriers and strengthen transport planning and execution within its UK operations. The deployment was executed as a UK rollout supported by Westernacher Consulting and targeted the companys logistics network to centralize freight orchestration and carrier engagement. The implementation focused on digitalized freight orders, accelerated carrier onboarding workflows, and operational collaboration capabilities typical of the Freight Forwarding category. SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration was configured to handle freight tendering and status exchange workflows, while SAP Transportation Management provided planning and execution orchestration, preserving end-to-end transport planning consistency with SAP S/4HANA Cloud transactional data. Integrations were implemented between SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration, SAP Transportation Management, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud private to enable freight order exchange and carrier communication across systems. The integration architecture supported outbound freight order publishing to carriers and inbound status and proof of delivery feeds, consolidating visibility across the UK logistics footprint, and enabling coordinated execution across planning and operations teams. Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with centralized carrier onboarding controls and standardized freight order processing embedded into logistics workflows to ensure consistent collaboration rules and exception handling. The UK rollout delivered faster carrier onboarding, digitalized freight orders and measurable transport-cost savings and OTIF improvements across CELSA Groups logistics network as reported by the project sponsors.
