| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 Telcel implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 within its ERP Financial footprint to re-engineer commercial sales processes for prepaid and postpaid cellular equipment at América Móvil Telcel. The engagement explicitly targeted the sale lifecycle by shifting logic to classification of the sale rather than material cataloguing, aligning SAP ERP ECC 6.0 configuration with commercial policy changes for device transactions.
The work centered on the Sales and Distribution functional area, applying order to cash principles to support classification driven sales flows. Configuration and impact analysis covered SD master data and document pricing rules, and the project required targeted enhancements, custom functions and BAPIs to enforce classification logic within sales order processing and settlement routines. Unit tests and configuration validation were executed as part of build activities.
Adjustments to external and internal interfaces were performed to propagate classification attributes across upstream and downstream touch points, the notes specify interface changes without naming specific middleware or third party systems. Operational coverage focused on commercial and sales departments handling prepaid and postpaid equipment transactions, with changes scoped to equipment sales classification and associated order processing.
Project governance included a Functional SD Leader coordinating three business consultants, conducting impact analysis and overseeing configuration, enhancements, functions, BAPIs and unit testing as part of the rollout. The narrative documents SAP ERP ECC 6.0 workstreams that combined functional reengineering, technical adjustments and structured test cycles to deliver the classification based sales model within the ERP Financial environment.
