Governance and runbook changes emphasized automated configuration management, patching and compliance using PowerSC, controlled LPM migrations and staged LPAR moves to cloud, and integration of cloud build and provisioning processes to support ongoing SAP S/4 HANA operations.

In 2016 AIG implemented AppWorx Workload Automation as part of its Business Process Management tooling to orchestrate scheduled batch jobs and recurring processes across application tiers. The implementation centered on scheduling and operationalizing batch workloads used by retail operations, price management, and procurement processes within AIG’s application estate.
The AppWorx Workload Automation deployment included development of specific functional modules such as a price change batch job, a purchase order price change batch process, and a Retail Operation and reports module. Engineering work created AppWorx scheduling components to run jobs at specified times, leveraged an existing multithreading batch framework and an RODB/DAO data tier, and produced managed beans and deployment artifacts to integrate scheduling with application logic.
Architecturally the implementation operated alongside JBoss application servers and a MySQL data tier, with artifacts built using Maven and deployed via Jenkins to AWS. The solution used MapQuest geocode service for address conversion and a DB Sync framework to compare and synchronize source and destination data sets, and it coordinated with microservices implemented in Spring Boot and deployed to Pivotal Cloud Foundry where RESTful web services provided data access for scheduled jobs.
Governance and operationalization included replacing an older build process across more than 60 projects with a Maven based pipeline, creating Jenkins jobs as part of the SCCM software change and configuration management process, and using JIRA and JUnit for issue tracking and unit testing. AppWorx Workload Automation was therefore embedded into AIG’s CI CD and batch orchestration workflows, aligning scheduling, build, and deployment practices for ongoing operations.
