The implementation emphasized career site integration and standard job posting templates to ensure consistent candidate experience and structured data capture across roles.
Operational ownership landed with HR talent acquisition, where the system was used to centralize recruiting processes and standardize approval and interview workflows. Governance focused on role based access, audit trails for hiring actions, and compliance oriented reporting within the Applicant Tracking System, aligning recruiting operations with enterprise HR process controls.

In 2016, Alliant Energy deployed IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform across generation asset management and supporting IT operations. The implementation focused on operational support and ongoing maintenance by the IT Generation team based in Cedar Rapids, IA, with IBM Maximo serving as the central system for asset and work management workflows.
Configuration included core asset and maintenance modules for Person records, Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions, Work Orders, Project Costing, Items and Inventory, and Manufacturers, plus GL chart of accounts import and decommissioning workflows. IBM Maximo reporting was extended through IBM Analytics to create specialized meter reports, and automation scripts built with Selenium IDE were used to support upgrade testing and repeatable import processes.
The deployment integrated explicitly with PeopleSoft ERP for bi-directional flows of Person, Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions, Work Orders, Project Costing, Items and Inventory, and Manufacturers data. A web based add on called DataSplice provided mobile inspection and meter round capabilities at generation plants, and support covered related touchpoints including Responder and GIS authentication and access issues.
Governance and rollout relied on a liaison model between business analysts, IT analysts, ERP teams, and vendors, with requirements gathering, usability testing, documentation, and user feedback built into DataSplice upgrade projects and Maximo enhancement efforts. Service team needs were addressed through design prototypes and a document storage and lookup solution named Team Wizard, and vendor account provisioning for external access was coordinated with IBM.
Operational results recorded in support activity included resolution of integration errors from PeopleSoft to Maximo, resolving plant meter round device issues, creation of a dedicated meter report in IBM Maximo, execution of automation scripts for upgrades, and documented automation for GL COA import and site decommissioning processes. Routine help desk fulfillment and troubleshooting across Maximo, DataSplice, Responder, and GIS were completed as part of ongoing application support.
