The environment was built on IBM AIX and Db2, leveraging Db2 advanced adaptive compression to reduce total data volumes from around 5 TB to approximately 2 TB, and using IBM Capacity Upgrade on Demand to provide on demand scaling for peak processing requirements.
Anglian Water consolidated 24 physical machines into a smaller pool consisting of six IBM Power System E850 and two IBM Power System S822 servers, hosted by Capgemini across twin data centers. Implementation and platform cutover were executed as a coordinated program involving Capgemini, IBM Db2 SAP Migration Services, and IBM Systems Lab Services during a planned August weekend cutover with immediate go live on the following Tuesday, enabling continuous operational access for Contact Centre agents and field engineers.
Governance for the nine month program emphasized a one team model between Anglian Water, Capgemini, and IBM, aligning SAP NetWeaver and Db2 release cycles to enable predictable feature adoption and stability.
