The Copperleaf Asset Investment Planning & Management application is used to test investment proposals and prioritize funding to deliver the greatest customer value at the lowest whole life cost. The implementation leverages the Copperleaf C55 decision analytics capability to evaluate and rank investment proposals, incorporate whole life cost considerations, and support deterioration modelling combined with asset criticality assessments. Functional workflows include investment appraisal and prioritization, portfolio level funding allocation, and the generation of site by site and catchment asset plans. These workflows align with standard Asset Performance Management practices for asset lifecycle planning, risk based maintenance planning, and capital program optimization.
Operationally the Copperleaf C55 system is applied across the companys asset portfolio to inform maintenance and investment programmes at site and catchment levels. Separately, Anglian Water uses Workday for human resources and mandatory training governance, with heads of business units required to confirm training completion for staff, including legal and cyber security obligations. The Copperleaf platform therefore operates alongside enterprise HR controls while remaining focused on capital planning and asset performance.
Governance for investment decision making is structured around continuous planning and management processes supported by Copperleaf, enabling structured testing of proposals before funds are allocated. Anglian Water reports extensive coverage of asset information and asset models, and positions the Copperleaf system as instrumental to its sector leading asset management practices and to ensuring funds are directed to projects that maximize customer benefit while minimizing whole life cost.
