In 2023, AP2E implemented SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Public as its ERP Financial solution to modernize the company information system and align with Durag group standards while supporting growth. The decision targeted a preconfigured public cloud edition to gain industry best practices and a scalable, standardized backbone for accounting, production and operational flows. The SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Public deployment activated specific scope items to cover core functions including finance and accounting, production management, supply chain and HR processes, with traceability features for serial numbers and batch management. Configuration followed a Fit-to-Standard approach, limiting bespoke development and enabling progressive activation of additional scope items as needs evolve. KPC Group served as the systems integrator, delivering the program using SAP Activate methodology, and providing end-to-end support through a dedicated team composed of a project manager and consultants focused on Production, Supply Chain and Finance. Workshops with key users were used to standardize process design and drive adoption among a technically oriented engineering population. The rollout also acted as a pilot for the Durag Group to inform subsequent S/4 HANA Cloud Public migrations. Operational coverage extended across AP2E manufacturing, engineering, finance and supply chain functions, and the implementation simplified exchanges and consolidation with the parent company through a common SAP environment. The solution addressed prior heterogeneity of data and improved real-time visibility of activities, enabling more consistent KPI reporting and cross-entity data flows with suppliers, partners and customers. Governance practices included structured SAP Activate phases, Fit-to-Standard governance with key-user signoffs and scope item management to control future change. Reported outcomes from the project included easier user adoption due to improved ergonomics, automation of routine tasks and guaranteed product traceability, while the platform’s alignment with best practices supports ongoing IS standardization across the group.
