In 2021, Blevins implemented Epicor Prophet 21 as its Distribution ERP to standardize core distribution processes across its plumbing wholesale operations. Epicor Prophet 21 was provisioned to support sales, customer service, warehouse, purchasing, accounting, and delivery operations within Blevins.
The implementation configured Order Management capabilities including Quotes and Orders, Front Counter point of sale workflows, Order History search, Customer-Specific Pricing, Contract Pricing, Lot Billing, Assemblies, Scheduling, and Proof of Delivery. Inventory and replenishment functionality was enabled with Flexible Inventory Replenishment methods such as Order Point Order Quantity, Min-Max, Economic Order Quantity, and Order Up-To, alongside Inventory Management and Purchasing, Wireless Warehouse Management System, Rebate Management, and Enterprise Content Management for document links.
Architecture and integrations were implemented using Prophet 21’s web-enabled infrastructure with on-premises and cloud deployment options and a technology stack that includes HTML5, Angular JS, .NET, and SQL Server. Explicit integrations and automation included Integrated EDI with the Scheduled Import Service Manager for automated inbound and outbound transactions and Edit Import Suspended reporting for review, the Pricing Service for vendor pricing updates and data mapping, integrated credit card processing for front counter payments, Mobile Proof of Delivery for driver mobile workflows, and document link capabilities to attach invoices and MSDS to records.
Operational governance was enforced through system controls such as contract start and end dates that drive contract pricing at order entry, rebate transactions recorded into the General Ledger and price schedules, signature capture integrated with Order Entry for proof of pickup, and scheduled import automation to reduce manual processing. The rollout centered on aligning front counter workflows, wireless warehouse picking, delivery driver mobile processes, and accounting rebate reconciliation to create consistent, cross-department operational procedures.
