In 2017, Bluewater implemented Intuit QuickBooks Online as its ERP Financial application for company accounting operations. The deployment centralized Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable within the Accounting Department at Bluewater Media, covering Production, Digital, and TV Media sales invoicing and billing. The Accounting Manager led TV Media Accounts Payable, which comprised approximately 80 percent of the role, and was responsible for paying major and minor subsidiary TV and News stations. That position managed between 80 and 100 Million in Accounts Payable invoices and maintained monthly ending balances.
Intuit QuickBooks Online was used alongside Excel and Workamajig to support billing, invoice reconciliation, and production cost tracking, with QuickBooks Online providing the cloud hosted ledger and AP AR processing expected of an ERP Financial system. Implemented functional capabilities included vendor invoice processing, accounts payable workflows, accounts receivable billing, and month end balance management. Operational coverage focused on the Accounting Department and media sales finance functions, with the Accounting Manager serving as the governance owner for AP workflows and monthly close procedures. The configuration emphasized structured vendor payment workflows to multiple broadcast subsidiaries and high volume media payable processing.
