In 2017, Boots began deployment of SAP S/4 HANA as an ERP Financial platform across Boots UK & ROI, Boots Opticians, and No7 Beauty Company. The implementation targeted core finance and financial control functions while preserving business as usual finance operations during the program.
The SAP S/4 HANA implementation concentrated on financial control modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets management, period close orchestration and statutory reporting. Configuration priorities included chart of accounts harmonization, close orchestration, intercompany accounting and consolidated financial reporting capabilities commonly associated with an ERP Financial solution.
Operational coverage encompassed finance teams and financial controllers across Boots UK & ROI, Boots Opticians, and No7 Beauty Company, with a Finance Manager role specifically assigned to support BAU activities while the project progressed. That Finance Manager worked closely with process leads and business readiness leads to coordinate cutover sequencing, reconciliation workflows and end user readiness for finance users.
Governance was organized around finance process ownership, business readiness streams and process leads to align system configuration with financial control and compliance requirements. Boots SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial implementation emphasized staged delivery and embedded finance governance to maintain financial control through configuration, testing and go live.

| Infinite Computer Solutions | Legacy | Infinite BrassRing ( Formerly IBM Kenexa BrassRing ) | Applicant Tracking System | HCM | n/a | 2007 | 2007 |
In 2007, Boots implemented Infinite BrassRing ( Formerly IBM Kenexa BrassRing ) as its Applicant Tracking System to manage recruiting and talent acquisition workflows. The deployment exposed BrassRing through Boots public careers presence, using BrassRing-hosted job pages and form-based application capture to advertise roles and collect candidate submissions directly from the Boots website.
The Infinite BrassRing ( Formerly IBM Kenexa BrassRing ) implementation included standard Applicant Tracking System capabilities such as job requisition creation, career site job posting, candidate application intake, candidate tracking across stages, interview scheduling support, offer management scaffolding, and reporting dashboards for recruiting teams. Configuration emphasized career site integration and role-based recruiter and hiring manager workflows to support requisition approvals and candidate progress tracking.
Operational coverage focused on recruiting use cases for Boots retail and corporate hiring in the United Kingdom, with the BrassRing career portal serving as the front end for sourcing applicants. The implementation centralized applicant data within the Infinite BrassRing Applicant Tracking System, providing a single source for candidate records, application history, and hiring activity visible to HR and recruiting stakeholders.
Governance and process alignment centered on recruiter and hiring manager workflows, access controls, and data capture standards to support consistent candidate handling and compliance reporting. System administration and configuration retained ATS-centric ownership, with career site content and job posting managed through the BrassRing interface and recruiter dashboards used for day to day candidate operations.

In 2015, Boots implemented Openbravo Store in the Point Of Sale category to consolidate and scale POS across Boots Opticians. The deployment targeted more than 600 UK branches and was designed to centralize pricing and discount management while delivering real-time sales visibility to head office.
The Openbravo Store deployment applied core Point Of Sale capabilities including transaction processing, centralized pricing and discounts, loyalty processing, NHS payments handling, and real-time sales reporting to provide chainwide visibility. Configuration work focused on store checkout workflows and centralized merchandising rules to ensure consistent pricing and promotions across optician sites.
Integrations were implemented with NHS payment channels and loyalty systems, and transactional and pricing data were routed to head office systems to enable centralized control and reporting. The project was executed with Openbravo Professional Services as the implementation partner and leveraged Openbravo Store as the application platform.
Governance changes centralized discount and pricing approval at head office and restructured store workflows to support consistent checkout operations and reporting. The case study reports that the rollout improved customer service and provided superior business control through consolidated POS operations and real-time sales visibility.
