In 2017 BreadTalk Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial backbone, replacing a legacy ERP. The deployment was organized around local and regional SAP application instances and staffed with dedicated workstream leads who gathered and translated business requirements into technical specifications, coordinated data migration, conducted key-user training, managed user acceptance testing and cut-over activities, and provided ongoing application support to drive effective utilization.
The implementation encompassed core SAP functional modules—SD, MM and PP—plus Retail IS, and required integration work for authorizations and system interfaces with the technical team. Rollout and operational scope covered cross-functional processes across finance, sales, procurement, production and retail operations across BreadTalk’s regional footprint, with documentation and support delivered in English and Mandarin to accommodate Mainland China users.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2018, BreadTalk Group implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR platform to unify HR systems across markets on a single common platform. The deployment began with the company’s largest markets, Singapore and China, and used a staged activation approach so modules and user experiences could be rolled out incrementally across countries and brands.
BreadTalk Group configured SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to provide core HR data management alongside e services such as digital leave applications and performance appraisals. The rollout included succession planning and talent programs, high potential identification workflows, and digital form processing, with emphasis on standardized data definitions such as employee grades and policy codification to synchronize disparate personnel records.
Integrations and adjacent platforms were scoped to extend employee engagement and learning, with the WeChat platform adopted for global communications and an employee portal developed as a one stop resource. The program also incorporated e learning content and training videos to complement instructor led training, and the company signaled adoption of other workforce touchpoints such as self service kiosks and cashless payment systems as complementary technologies.
Governance focused on data standardization, staged activation of modules, and change management communications to address user adoption. BreadTalk Group established standard processes and a playbook to enable consistent HR treatment across territories and to accelerate HR setup in new markets, while offering multi language options to meet local needs and improve data integrity.
As a result of implementing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, managers gained fingertip access to reports and employee information, and employees were able to submit digital forms and view personal data on mobile devices. The unified Core HR platform was positioned to support higher quality employee data and to enable better people decisions as additional countries come on board.
