In 2009, Brothers Cider deployed Microsoft Dynamics AX as its ERP Financial platform in partnership with eBECS, formalizing a multi-stage implementation that began with Microsoft Dynamics AX 3.0 in 2005 and included an upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 in 2008. Brothers Cider is a privately held UK beverages company and bottler of national brands, and the Microsoft Dynamics AX deployment is positioned to support its commercial and manufacturing operations across the business.
The Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation covers the entire sales, manufacture and shipping process, aligning ERP Financial capabilities with order-to-cash, production-oriented workflows and distribution execution. Configuration work focused on manufacturing and shipping process orchestration, sales order processing and inventory control to support bottling and distribution of branded and own-label cider products.
eBECS acted as the systems integrator and delivery partner, executing an upgrade path that included a recorded three week upgrade activity, and implementing governance and operational controls to support ongoing growth. The project is described by company leadership as a comprehensive, agile and reliable solution that has grown with the business, and Microsoft Dynamics AX remains the core ERP Financial system supporting Brothers Cider operations in the United Kingdom.

In 2017 Brothers Cider implemented Timeware Workforce Management as its Workforce Management platform to centralize time capture and payroll inputs for a 200 employee leisure and hospitality operation. The deployment is focused on supporting a fortnightly payroll cycle and provides a single point for time entry validation, exception handling, and payroll preparation across HR and finance functions.
Timeware Workforce Management has been configured to support core time and attendance workflows, manager exception queries, employee setup, and the end to end payroll preparation activities described by the payroll owner. The configuration covers fortnightly and ad hoc monthly employee provisioning, pension documentation uploads, and the generation of payroll posting data, reflecting functional capabilities typical of a Workforce Management application.
The implementation integrates explicitly with Sage Payroll for employee setup and payroll processing, and it outputs nominal transactions for posting to the general ledger used by the finance team. Operational coverage spans HR, payroll, and finance, with transactional touchpoints into sales ledger activities and occasional purchase ledger cover, reflecting cross functional use of time and payroll data for order and transport coordination.
Governance is operationalized through a repeatable fortnightly process, the payroll owner checking Timeware data, issuing queries to line managers, confirming corrections, and then completing payroll submission and GL posting. Employee query handling and close collaboration with HR for onboarding are formal parts of the workflow, ensuring continuity of payroll operations and accurate accounting inputs.
