In 2018, CH Robinson implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial application to centralize core finance operations. The Oracle Cloud ERP deployment was provisioned as a cloud SaaS solution to consolidate transactional ledgers and standardize period close and intercompany accounting across the enterprise finance organization.
The implementation encompassed core ERP Financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and financial reporting within Oracle Cloud ERP. Configuration work emphasized multi ledgers and subledger reconciliation, automated period close sequencing, and standardized journal and intercompany posting workflows to support consolidated financial reporting.
The program integrated Oracle Cloud ERP with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management EPM Cloud and Oracle Business Intelligence BI Cloud, aligning transactional finance data with planning, consolidation, and management reporting. These integrations linked Oracle Cloud ERP transactional sources to FP&A and consolidation capabilities in EPM, and to governance and dashboarding in BI Cloud, creating a unified finance reporting chain.
Governance and operational ownership were established through an Oracle ERP, EPM, & BI Cloud Center of Excellence, with a Global Program Director leading implementation activities from Jan 2018 to Mar 2020. The COE coordinated configuration governance, role based access controls, release management, and standardized finance process guidance while directing change management and training for accounting and finance functions.

In 2019 C.H. Robinson implemented Workday Absence Management as a global absence solution in the Absence and Leave Management category. The deployment was executed within a broader Workday program that included HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Absence, Compensation, Payroll and Integrations, and it was led by the HR Technology organization to create standardized absence processes across disparate regions.
Workday Absence Management was configured to manage leave plans, eligibility rules, accrual calculations, time off request workflows and approval routing, and to provide reporting and audit capabilities for absence lifecycles. The implementation emphasized automated entitlement calculations and balance tracking to reduce manual reconciliations and to align absence administration with payroll and benefits processes.
The absence workstream integrated with adjacent Workday modules, including Workday HCM, Benefits and Payroll, and it operated alongside ServiceNow as the employee experience front end and Cornerstone as the learning platform where absence data supported compliance workflows. Integration design leveraged Workday integration constructs to propagate absence events to payroll and benefits processing and to surface absence-related cases in ServiceNow.
Governance and rollout were managed by the HR Technology team through a dynamic roadmap, standardized policy templates and formalized workflows for requests, approvals and policy exceptions. The implementation supported enhanced global employee experience and promoted process standardization across regions as reported by HR leadership, while aligning absence management with core HR, payroll and benefits functions.

Configuration work focused on expense reporting, itinerary booking, corporate card reconciliation, policy enforcement, and approval routing. SAP Concur Travel was configured to capture standardized GL coding and expense category fields to align with Accounts Payable validation and to automate policy checks and approver chains within T&E workflows.
Integrations included connection points with Oracle Cloud ERP for accounting and AP posting and linkage to ServiceNow workflows used to administer the Corporate Credit Card Program. The environment also operated alongside Coupa T&E, requiring processes to coordinate expense intake and routing across both T&E systems, with operational coverage spanning Accounts Payable teams that support CH Robinson branches and internal business partners.
Governance and rollout emphasized updated internal operating procedure documentation, structured training and cross-training for AP staff, and AP-led recommendations for system and process enhancements. Ownership for reconciliation, approvals, and corporate card administration remained within Finance and Accounts Payable, including daily payment processing activities and CAM reconciliation tasks.
