| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016 Cathay Pacific selected SAP S/4 HANA from SAP to consolidate its ERP Financial platform and standardize core finance processes. The implementation was aligned to SAP S/4 HANA’s simplified in-memory architecture, positioning the airline to run core financial accounting and close processes on a single transactional and reporting model.
The deployment focused on ERP Financial modules including financial accounting, management accounting, accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, treasury and financial close capabilities, with configuration workstreams for master data harmonization, chart of accounts rationalization and role based authorizations. SAP S/4 HANA was configured to enable real time ledger entries and embedded analytics for operational financial reporting and month end acceleration.
Architecturally the program referenced SAP’s cloud and hosting options, noting SAP HANA Cloud Platform as an extensibility layer and SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud as a secure hosting option to support hybrid on premise and cloud integration scenarios. Operational scope concentrated on Cathay Pacific’s finance organization in Hong Kong and group reporting functions, with governance centered on centralized finance workflows, standardized processes and role based controls to support compliance and consistent accounting practice.

| Mercer | Legacy | Mercer Darwin Benefits (formerly Thomsons Online Benefits) | Benefits Administration | HCM | n/a | 2015 | 2016 |
In 2015, Cathay Pacific implemented Mercer Darwin Benefits (formerly Thomsons Online Benefits) as its core Benefits Administration platform. The deployment targeted Cathay Pacific Airways headquarters and outport offices and covered an employee population of approximately 26,000 as part of a broader employee benefit digital transformation program.
The implementation provisioned the Mercer Darwin Benefits application to support flex benefit enrolment, personalized benefit statements, e-claim submission, and end to end benefit administration workflows including policies enrolment, underwriting, and claim processing. The deployment included the Thomsons Online Benefits enrolment and administration components alongside the Guidewire Claim module for claims workflow, with configuration for plan catalogs such as life and preventive care, accident, travel, P-fund, and inpatient and outpatient medical plans.
Architecture followed a SaaS delivery model and integrated the Mercer Darwin Benefits platform with Guidewire Software's Claim module and Informatica PowerCenter for data orchestration between HR and benefits systems. The project included a partnership with Mercer Marsh Benefits to align plan design and to drive the employee customer journey for benefit plan redesign and enrollment.
Program governance was led by a project manager within Information Management reporting to the programme manager, with PMO controls, stakeholder engagement, and documentation for ISO27001 and GDPR accreditation included in delivery. The project budget was HKD 17m and the implementation targeted annual cost savings of HKD 54m, while formalizing approval, underwriting and e-claim processing workflows across the defined operational scope.

| SITA | Legacy | SITA Connect Go | Airport Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2024 | 2025 |
In 2024, Cathay Pacific began deployment of SITA Connect Go as part of its Airport Management portfolio to expand airport network connectivity and to support IT and network operations, with SITA as the vendor. The rollout covers 51 global airports with primary operational emphasis on the APAC region, positioning SITA Connect Go to address increased cloud adoption and cross airport connectivity requirements for airline operational systems.
The SITA Connect Go implementation is configured to increase available bandwidth up to five times current levels and to improve performance of older applications. Architectural emphasis is on edge connectivity and cloud onramps, with centralized connectivity management, bandwidth provisioning workflows, and resilient routing to sustain airline operational traffic and airport systems.
The program entered a 12 month design, build and implementation phase starting April 2024 and is expected to be fully operational in early Q2 2025. Rollout sequencing is organized across airport sites to align service activation with cloud migration roadmaps and network operations center readiness, affecting IT network operations, cloud teams, and airport operational technology teams.
Governance is structured around centralized change control and staged service activation to manage cutover risk and maintain operational continuity. Cathay Pacific's deployment of SITA Connect Go within Airport Management formalizes a network provisioning and orchestration layer to support cloud native workloads and airport systems at scale, and it is scoped to deliver improved operational efficiency as the new connectivity fabric comes online.
