| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service | Point Of Sale | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 Charles & Keith Group implemented Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service as their Point Of Sale to support transactional operations across retail, eCommerce, and supply chain business functions. The deployment was positioned as the enterprise Point Of Sale platform for store-level transaction processing and store operations, aligning POS capabilities with broader omnichannel commerce objectives.
The Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service implementation configured core POS modules including transaction processing, payment handling, returns and refunds, promotions and price management, inventory lookup at point of sale, and staff authentication and session management. Configuration work emphasized business rule scripting and terminal provisioning to enforce store operations and promotional policies, while standard retail workflows were codified to ensure consistent checkout and returns handling.
Integration architecture centered on API driven connectivity and asynchronous messaging to ensure near real-time data exchange between the POS and upstream systems. Integrations explicitly targeted ERP, CRM, order management, and warehouse management platforms, using middleware and message queues to maintain inventory visibility, order status synchronization, and customer data consistency across channels. The environment supported programmatic interfaces for ecommerce reconciliation and store stock updates to align point-of-sale events with supply chain processes.
Governance and operationalization were structured around application lifecycle controls, documented change management, and engineering practices that included code reviews and CI/CD oriented delivery. The IT Applications Manager role led software development and integration efforts, enforced technical documentation and security practices, and coordinated cross-functional rollout activities to ensure system interoperability between POS, ERP, CRM, and WMS domains.
