In 2015 City of Kaiserslautern Germany implemented Swarco Traffic Management, a Traffic Management application, to provision a central Parking Guidance System for municipal parking operations. The deployment established a centralized PGS server under Swarco Traffic Management and consolidated control of dynamic parking signage across the city.
The implementation included a PGS server, 11 variable message sign locations and data acquisition from 12 parking facilities to manage dynamic parking signage. Swarco Traffic Management was configured to ingest facility-level parking data streams and orchestrate real time message updates on the VMS network as part of the Parking Guidance System.
Operational coverage centralized parking data into the municipal traffic office for operational control and later analysis of parking statistics. The configuration aligned traffic office workflows with the PGS server control plane, enabling centralized monitoring and event driven signage updates across the 11 VMS sites and 12 connected parking facilities.
